I have found a dangerous website that needs to be blocked ASAP

This website: letsplayme.xyz Seems to contain malicious code and is really hard to close because it seems to exploit the fact that window closing is deactivated as long as a sub-window is open. This needs to be addressed ASAP.

Not really a FF problem but a user going to sites they shouldn't go to or clicking on bad links.

Wrong, this site has been open without my input as an ad while browsing website that is harmless on its own and exploits certain firefox features in order to 1. Make it hard to close 2. Ahh. you are talking about a 'lock' page.

A way out of the trap is to (force it if needed) Close Firefox. Wait about 20 seconds for Firefox to finish closing. Right-click on the Firefox icon and select Open New Window. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Sometimes this works. If it opens, close it by Menu > File > Exit. This will flush out that web page from the Session Store.

When you get a scam page that shows that two-line 'Authentication Required' dialog, and you cancel it, usually the page will reload and show it again. To break the cycle, tap the Esc key several times in a row quickly. That should cancel the dialog as well as the reload. Then you can easily close the tab.

I don't know if I've deactivated something, but this one seems to be a little easier to close than the ones that go to full screen to hide the tab bar... those are truly evil.

Yeah I found a workaround a few minutes after discovery, but its just that, a workaround. We really need to fix this.

This is the workaround I used, but its still not a fix.

Go to the Mozilla Add-ons Web Page {web Link} (There’s a lot of good stuff here) and search for a good ad / pop-up blocker.

Will try, but I used ad and site blockers and somehow they did not work. Also this is still a workaround instead of fix, though better than the previous ones.

In my opinion, it would be good to add a Close Tab button to both of the dialogs in that screenshot so the user doesn't need to know the mechanics of any workarounds. This also would be simpler than trying to guess in advance all the different ways that scripts can be abused to trap users. However, I am not a developer...
