The Firefox icon on my desktop has just been taken over by Yahoo. I can' t use Firefox.

I did downloaded Firefox latest version yesterday, trying to use the Firefox old icon my desktop. However, I tried chick on it, another browser came up onto the screen, instead of Firefox. After I have been trying fix the problem but I failed and I could not move the " Yahoo" browser out of my desktop screen. I am asking for your assistance. Would you, computer expert give me sound idea of how should do on it. Your information will save me a lot and appreciated for your help!

Hi  !

First : 'Yahoo' is not a browser, but a search engine, like i.e. Google or Bing. Even though Yahoo is a legitimate search engine, you may be dealing with search.yahoo.com redirect virus, malware, that you of course need to get rid of.

Would you go to Options => Add-ons => Extensions and look for anything that looks unfamiliar or suspicious  ? If you find any : please remove it.

Then do the same in Windows Control Panel.

However : most malware will be 'hiding' somewhere , so let's run malware scans :

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. They all work differently - what one program doesn't pick up, the other might.
