Not to sure but see if this helps you out at all:
A chrome:// script is an internal part of Firefox or a Firefox extension. (Firefox used the word chrome to refer to the parts of Firefox outside of the page content long before another company decided to adopt that name for its browser.)
I'm not sure what that particular stalled function is, but could you test whether you get the same error starting Firefox up with a blank page instead of your regular home page? Here's how:
With Firefox closed, go to the Start menu, Run, and paste the following and press Enter (or click the button):
firefox.exe "about:blank"
If you get the same error, then it's not caused by the Bing site.
In case one of your extensions is involved, could you test starting up in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode.
If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
"3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Reset).
If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox. Then use the "Start in Safe Mode" button.
