The approval window pops up for one of my email accounts. Normally I would click "forward" and approve the thunderbid as an email client, but this window does not react. I can't click "forward" nor "more options". However the "language selection" nad the field for email address work fine. So what's the problem? How to force it to work corectly?

And why did it show out of no reason now while the email account has been already approved?

I assume, that this the problem with Thunderbird.

Is this the latest version of Tbird (52.1.1)?

It's the 45.8 however it has worked just a few weeks ago. And it's been said that it works for versions above 31

Google has changed their login script recently. Now the only versions working with google are 52.1.0 and up.

But there are some workarounds in the bug => https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1359297

Well, i do not want to change the pasword so this part: Workarounds:

  • For existing TB account with a saved password:
Go to Options > Security > Passwords-Saved Passwords
 Click Show Passwords
Right click the password you wish to change and select Edit
  • When creating new account in Thunderbird:
 https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6010255 and use option 2

...is not helpful.

Also I have followed this link: * Also, make sure you approve your device https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1157498?page=2#answer-963468 And then set up averything "ON" at my google account from this link: [https://myaccount.google.com/activity.../activitycontrols] ...but it didn't help. So can you tell me what is the workaround exactly?

Oh ok. Sorry for my stupidity. This Workaround actually works. I could download emails but I still can't send them because the worarround reffers to v52 placement of the "outgoing mail server settings", and I can not find them in my 45 verssion. Where do I find them??

The worarround is here: Workaround: If anyone needs a workaround for any reason as I did, here is one option to consider to get your gmail working in Thunderbird without the patch.

First in your gmail account you will need to have “Allow less secure apps” turned on. You can always turn this back off when you have OAuth working again. Here is the link to the setting. Next, In Thunderbird > account settings > server settings > Change the Authentication method from “OAuth” to “Normal Password” Last change the SMTP server settings to normal as well (to be able to send out email).
