Deploy Native Chrome Shortcuts via MDM that launch Firefox (URL Schema)

Greetings Mozilla Support Community.

I'm trying to deploy a Chrome-Based Shortcut via an MDM Solution (AirWatch) to Android Devices that will then open the Firefox Browser with a specific URL. We want to leave Chrome as the default Browser (as we are trying to allow a BYOD Model and don't want to take over the users device) while being able to push Internet Sites down that WILL open in the Firefox Browser.

I have been able to do this for browsers such as the AirWatch Browser using a URL Scheme, awb://

So I wanted to push a shortcut for http://xkcd.com to the device the URL would appear as awb://xkcd.com - then the Android Device interprits the 'awb://' and opens the AirWatch Browser with the desired URL.

Does Firefox have a similar URL Scheme available? I've tried performing numerous searches online, and I keep getting told I need to use an 'Intent' to accomplish this - which seems immensely overly complicated / engineered solution for a such a minor problem.

If someone can point me in the right direction to accomplish my goal it would be very much appreciated.

Cheers, Estens.
