My sync account won't stay sign in

I've been using Firefox sync for some time now and lately I switched emails. I tried to move all my data to a new sync account with my new email by signing into both in succession. Then I deleted my old account (probably not the smartest idea, I know).

My new account has trouble staying signed in. I will sign into it by confirming the email and it will register as a success but it won't sync and when I got to look at my account it asks me to "sign in to reconnect". Why is this happening and is there anything I can do?
