Hanging on Launch, will start in safe mode. Most troubleshooting steps have been taken.
Hi! Hoping someone can help out here.
Firefox has developed a problem where it will only start in Firefox Safe Mode. I've taken the following steps to try and get it working under normal circumstances again:
1) Run several Malware detectors 2) Disabled all extensions and plugins that appear in the browser 3) Created new profiles, and have done a clean install (deleting the directory) more than once 4) Disabled hardware acceleration 5) No crash reports appear 6) Have tried opening with and without profile manager 7) Tried disabling firewall/anti-virus
All have the same result!
Any other suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?
It does start normally when Windows is in Safe Mode. What else should I be looking for?
When a computer is started in Safe Mode, only system programs are running.
As a test, disable your protection programs.
Still no dice. Disabled Windows Defender, disabled Firewall, uninstalled any spyware/malware detectors or anti-virus programs. Program still hangs on launch, but opens in Windows Safe Mode and Firefox Safe Mode (either/or).
I've looked at all of my Windows Processes and Services, and nothing seems to be out of the ordinary.

You can use the MSConfig program or the Autoruns utility to see what software is getting started (be cautious with disabling services).
Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.
