Can't start Firefox,
when starting Firefox I'm told it is already running but not responding so I click on 'close' then I am told my profile and may be missing or inaccessible with OK to click on, which I do, and that's as far as I can go. Tried deinstalling and reinstalling but got the same response. Please help.

Do you have the Firefox icon on your quick launch? Close Firefox. Right click on the icon and select Open New Tab. Sometimes this works. If it opens, close it by Menu > File > Exit.
This is not a cure but will make it easier if Firefox locks up in Windows. https://support.mozilla.org/questions/997866 {web link}

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.
See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
