"The add on could not be downloaded because of a connection failure on no script.net" Huh? I want my no script back lol -- is this really happening due to some problem purely originating with no script? Seems probable that it has something to do with the refresh I just did which removed it :)

gratitude in advance, da

First, why did you refresh Firefox? Was there a problem?

From you post, it sounds like you went to the NoScript web site. Have you tried from https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/noscript/ ?

Some other users that reported that error for extension installations that redirect during download from the source site (e.g., Yahoo! Toolbar, LastPass). But for most people, the redirect is handled transparently. It might be caused by security software; it's an unsolved mystery.

I was prompted to refresh by Firefox, saw a box saying it was loading slowly and I've been having lots of problems with lag time anyway...

NoScript is back, but I see I've lost a bunch of other functionality...how do I restore stacked tabs, for example? I remember it was an extended adventure trying to figure out how to get that simple attribute enabled to begin with, and now I am back to an endless lateral arrowed scroll from left to right for tabs....

Adblocker Plus reinstall would be through where exactly? Trying to add back just the minimum requirements from before to see if that improves speed/performance....

It's a little difficult to research extensions using the Old Firefox Data folder on your desktop, because they tend to be stored in folder names with long GUIDs as names (globally unique identifiers).

You can search those GUID folder names online and often discover what extension they correspond to. However, if you had a lot of extensions, another option is to "resurrect" the old profile to use for research while you construct the new one. If you want to try it, see this post: https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1057756#answer-719277
