Do you know of a mod that won't allow Youtube to have a resolution higher than 720p, including when embedded? I almost-always have Youtube at 480p when watching through their site. I noticed that when watching a video on another site and that it's embedding Youtube, that the resolution is higher > 480p and in those cases it's not rare to be > 720p.

I'd like a mod or setting so that when it's active that Youtube can't have a resolution higher than 720p, including when embedded. Any idea if there's something alike?

When I navigate to youtube and try to watch a video, the player does not load. It just shows white in the space where the player should be. No video, no audio, no nothing. No matter what video I click, the same thing happens. The only workaround I have found is that if I go to a page with an embedded youtube video, and click the "watch on youtube" link that appears in it, it will load a youtube page that can play videos normally. I can use that page to navigate youtube and it will operate normally. However if I type in youtube.com or get to the site some other way, the issue happens where it is only white space. It is very frustrating.

Audio doesn't work with Firefox. This appears to be ONLY a Firefox problem. Headphones work with Edge. Computer speakers work. In Windows settings, testing audio works. But when I attempt to listen to something in Firefox, there is no sound at all.

My YouTube videos are very choppy and keep buffering. This happens no matter what resolution I choose. My internet connection is fast according to speed tests I've run. I'm using the latest version of Firefox on a MacBook. I've tried clearing my browser cache and cookies, but that didn't help. Can you suggest solutions to fix this problem?

I've recently done a clean reinstall of Windows 11 and have noticed that, only for Firefox (134.0.2, build ID 20250120135430), a few videos playback without any audio, yet the same videos play with audio when using edge as a comparison. Most (if not all) of these videos did play with audio in Firefox prior to this reinstall.

Firstly, I'm pretty sure this is not a windows sound mixer issue since many videos on the same page and tab play back with audio just fine in Firefox. The same goes for it not relating to the Firefox setting 'Speaker selection', under (burger) > settings > privacy & security > Permissions because videos of different formats (or using different players) on the same page play back audio fine. The tab is not muted. Again, some videos on the same browser tab play audio fine; some of a particular format or player only play the video, while missing the audio (and where Edge plays the same video with audio).

Another common and potentially relevant issue I've seen is that, this being a 'Windows 11 N" install, it was initially missing the settings > system > optional features > Media feature pack, but that is now something I've successfully added. I should add that windows did report problems when I initially tried to add the media feature pack but, after a very long delay, it eventually appeared to succeed when I ran a couple of DISM incantations that I think ended with - "dism /online /add-capability /capabilityname:Media.MediaFeaturePack~~~~0.0.1.0"

I have the 'Play DRM-controlled content' setting enabled.

I've seen lots of similar (but not identical) issues on Firefox video with no audio problems with suggestions a few things to try. In addition to what I've already mentioned above, I've tried the following without success -

- Restarting Windows - Restarting Firefox - Restarting Firefox with addons/extensions disabled - 'about:support' > Refresh Firefox - 'about:support' > Clear startup cache - (hamburger) > more tools > task manager > (click the little profile icon for the page playing the video) - I've checked the settings suggested here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-common-audio-and-video-issues#w_check-some-firefox-settings

I realise it may be possible to side-step this problem by flailing around with more drastic work-arounds like trying a clean re-install of Windows or a full uninstall and clean of Firefox, but that doesn't really help figure out the problem, which leaves the possibility it could easily happen again to me or others when it might be something that can be more properly fixed or guarded against in Firefox itself, so I hope someone can suggest what might be done to home in on identifying the cause of the problem and so learn whether a more precise fix can be employed.

I cannot seem to get playback with Firefox browser for either Tubi TV or Pluto TV anymore. Have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, have tried to just refresh data yet still no playback.

Hello! from this morning and alongside a new Firefox update i've been having graphical artifacts on Youtube/Facebook/Netflix. I've followed all the standard steps.

Disabled Hardware Acceleration. Updated Video Drives. Run FF in Safe Mode without plugins. Disabled Router level VPN and Ghostery.

Any ideas?

I'm running FF135.0 Geforce 572.16 Drives (30th Jan) 3070TI. Windows 10 Pro 22H2.

i have no sound from my firefox browser all of a sudden :'). it was working fine about an hour ago but now it's just... gone. i'm on the latest update (05/02/25) & i'm not sure what to do.

• my headphones are fine (sound works completely through them on other apps)
• absolutely NO sound is coming from firefox with my headphones on
• sound will play through my speakers completely fine
• i've tried restarting firefox & nothing worked
• eartrumpet is showing firefox for my speakers but not my headphones?
• firefox wasn't showing up at all on media controller???

any help is appreciated hah?????

on Sunday, Feb. 02, 2025, at about 20H15 PT, WSJ security monitor "zapped" Firefox browser audio player . While i was texting my son the security was challenged to listen to my keystrokes , from both my iPhone & laptop, while i had music from my speaker system in the background.

My iPhone & laptop "use" Firefox browser. Cannot get sound when i try to play online playlists.

Maybe reinstall Firefox browser on iPhone & PC laptop will correct the problem?

i have been using firefox for quite some time. but as of late when i open a reels video on f/b sound works fine just no video. i have deleted ff and re loaded the latest ver. it will work on microsoft edge any help appreciate

Sound and some video's don't work on facebook on my pc with firefox. Works fine on my phone with firefox . When I use a different browser on my pc it is fine. I am getting pissed off with the piss poor help system you are running here. No help means No good. Do you even look at these crappy reports. Because you are not responding and I have no idea if you give a fuck? well do ya.

I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 8 with a Slim Pen 2. I do a lot of searching in google maps and have noticed that I can access google maps and can use pinch to decrease and expand the maps and if I open a street view I can use touch to move the field view around as it should be. The problem occurs is when I use my slim pen. Once I have used the slim pen to move a field or open a street view the touch capability stops working. I can still close the window and other things with the touch capability (system type functions), but within the browser it's disabled.

I have not noticed this occurring in any other web site or type. For example I can go to amazon and interchangeably use the pen and touch capability without issue.

I have tested this in Google Chrome and MS Edge and it does not disable the touch capability when I use the pen.
