I am trying to add an mp4 video to my website using the following code:

<video width="320" height="240" controls>
  <source src="images/###.mp4" type="video/mp4">
</video>

where ### is the name of the video file. I get the following error message:

"No video with supported format or MIME type found."

In the console the following is displayed:

"Media resource http://127.0.0.1:5502/images/###.mp4 could not be decoded. video.html All candidate resources failed to load. Media load paused. video.html Media resource http://127.0.0.1:5502/images/###.mp4 could not be decoded, error: Error Code: NS_ERROR_DOM_MEDIA_METADATA_ERR (0x806e0006)"

Runs just fine in Chrome and I have no pop-up blockers installed. Autoplay is set to be allowed for all websites.

Windows 11 version 23H2. Firefox version: 126.0 (64-bit)

I have installed firefox in my laptop for years. after latest update, firefox runs just fine only for the 1st time, then after closing the app / restarting the laptop, firefox keep giving error (attached) I have tried to refresh, run troubleshoot mode, uninstall and reinstall again at one point I was able to recreate the issue only after reinstalling firefox 126.0.1 portable version and then syncing to the profile ( run ok for 1st time, then it broke down after closing it) The problem also seems repeatable using firefox 115 protable Now, I tried to reinstall the portable version from scratch, it keeps hitting same error from 1st run

I have also double check the firewall and antivirus to make its not blocking All other browsers works just fine

I'm hoping someone can help with a conundrum.

A few years ago, whenever I first started Firefox--whether I had just started up my computer or had exited Firefox and opened it back up--it would take several minutes for Firefox to load any website (Google, Amazon, weather.com--anything). Once the first site loaded, it would load subsequent sites normally. Interestingly, it was only my default profile that was affected; if I used another profile or created a new one, websites would load within seconds of my starting Firefox.

I finally broke down and created a new default profile, imported my history/bookmarks/etc., reinstalled extensions, adjusted settings, etc. The new profile behaved nicely, loading the first website within a few seconds of Firefox starting. But over time, the load time has gradually increased to the point where it is now behaving just like the old profile: I load Firefox, I try to go to any website, and it takes several minutes for it to load.

Any ideas what's happening/what's the problem? Hoping someone out there has some wisdom and can help troubleshoot. Thanks!

How can I check what is being loaded on my computer with my browser Firefox when I start up Firefox. It takes too long for my homepage to load compared to other browsers. Can someone help so I can determine what is being loaded when I start up my browser Firefox? Thank you.

I am experiencing an issue related to the Vanguard anti-cheat system used by Riot Games, specifically in relation to League of Legends. After installing the game and Vanguard, I am unable to open Firefox. When I try to launch Firefox, nothing happens. However, if I change the name of the firefox.exe file, I can start Firefox on a different profile, but it only works for a short period before becoming unresponsive. None of the options or tabs respond after that.

Could you please provide assistance on how to resolve this issue?

My Firefox tab keeps crashing on a particular website. Whenever I go to twitch.tv, the site begins to load and then I get the "Gah. Your tab just crashed." screen. I'm only getting this crash on twitch.tv pages, and this issue just started on May 31, 2024. When I try to open a twitch.tv page in Private Mode, the page loads just fine. I've never had a Firefox tab crash prior to this.

I've tried turning off all of my Firefox extensions, but that didn't solve the issue. I also tried opening Firefox in Troubleshooting Mode, but I still got the tab crash. I'm using the latest version of Firefox as of today's date.

When using amazon the login and page load times are excessively long. More often than not I can open MSN, load amazon, login, and find what I'm looking for before Firefox has completed signing me in or searching for an item. This is not a once in a while problem, it happens every time with amazon, some times worse than other times. Ive deleted and reloaded Firefox, cleared all history and tried as many other things that I could find online to try, none of which helped.

If I open a second tab on the screen it says the connection has crashed and keeps doing it if you try again. If you reset it resets Firefox including the other tab.

This pops up every few hours. Sometimes it pops up invisible but steals focus from the main window. How can this be disabled?

I tried all methods that have been mentioned everywhere on the Internet, including policy.json, Group Policy on Windows, etc. Nothing disables this nagging yet.

When ever I play a game, the video I have playing (yes I need that stimulation) all of a sudden just freezes I can hear the audio but the video just freezes unless I click back onto the browser

I'm a long time FF user, the developer edition is my preferred browser. It suddenly started crashing, a complete removal and new install did not help.I posted a help question a couple of weeks ago but no workable solution surfaced unfortunately. I assume the problem is still the same.

ps. I'm currently using the standard FF verison and it runs smooth as ever....

Every time I attempt to download a file today, no matter what it is or where it's from, it pops up saying that the download failed immediately. I can download through Edge or other browsers, just not Firefox (or any Firefox offshoots like LibreWolf). Not sure what's causing it, I've run a whole gambit of troubleshooting options, including:

• Checking my connection
• Checking my drive's space (plenty)
• Changing the download path
• Reset the download folder in about:config
• Rebooting my computer
• Clearing my downloads
• Trying a new profile
• Run a MalwareBytes scan
• Closed MalwareBytes and turned off my firewall
• Ensured OneDrive is disabled
• Refreshed Firefox
• Did a clean install

Nothing works. The only thing I found that gives me any kind of clue is this error message in my about:support: ""NotAllowedError: Could not create unique file in `C:\Users\[my name redacted]\AppData\Local\Temp' (NS_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED"" It seems like Firefox is trying to write to Temp and can't get the permissions, but I'm not sure why that would be or how to fix it. I have tried googling my butt off, but I'm not finding anything helpful - I may just be blind.

If anyone has any idea how to fix this, it'd be much appreciated!

i updated my browser and now everything is gone, my extentions wont open as its in "safe mode", none of my browsing history is saved anymore. should I delete firefox and reinstall it?

I have issues since a few months that Firefox loads website only when I actively click on the app and put in foreground. Then the tabs start loading. Why is that?

After startup of Windows 10, I usually run a little batch script of mine starting various applications such as Outlook, Notepad++ etc, including Firefox along with my favourite websites, just like this:

So Firefox loads and opens all the tabs in the background, while other apps such as Outlook or Notepad++ come in the foreground. I read mails etc. before I decide to check e.g. Wikipedia. So it might take 5 minutes after Firefox got opened before I actively put it in the foreground. THEN I see no websites got loaded, and THEN Firefox starts to load the websites, which then takes the normal amount of time of a few seconds.

I wonder why Firefox does not load all my requested websites directly after start in the background.

An annoying side effect is, when still in Outlook and clicking on a website link in an email, it won't open in Firefox, most likely due to that reason that Firefox still waits for all the other websites to load. I need to put it into foreground, wait for the loading process to complete, and then go back to the email and click on the link again.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

After update to 126.0.1 I cant access two of the four windows that are open. They are still listed under the Window toolbar option but clicking on them reveals nothing, as if hidden except they are not in the Mac toolbar. Not sure if this is a new feature or glitch, any help would be great, the two windows I can't currently access contain alot of tabs I need.

As the title says, it is very slow with Ublock Origin. I have refreshed Firefox and without Ublock it obviously works but I would like to keep the extension because it is the only one that works with Youtube Ads right now.

I have used Firefox exclusively for years. I use Hushmail but recently I am missing the respond to email bar that was always there. I have to use Edge and Chrome (but not a fan of) and Hushmail works like it used to. Something about Firefox must be the difference. Can you help me?
