hard drive failed on windows 10 pc, new drive put in & window 10 reinstalled with Edge browser (by experts) What do i do to get firefox browser as my main browser back with all my bookmarks etc & firefox VPN ?

Do I just download firefox installer & sign on & all bookmarks etc will be there?

When ever I play a game, the video I have playing (yes I need that stimulation) all of a sudden just freezes I can hear the audio but the video just freezes unless I click back onto the browser

Installed Firefox 122 in a new Windows 10 installation and added some extensions (e.g. Gesturefly, Update Scanner, uBlock Origin, Uppity). These pinned fine on my old installation. But I cannot find how to pin them on the new.

All the help I have found Googling, or using search here, says go to the Add-ons Manager page and right-click the extension and use "pin to toolbar". Alternatively click the extension and click the gear icon and use "pin to toolbar". But when I right-click there is no pin to toolbar context menu entry. If I left-click the gear I get "Check for Updates, View Recent Updates, Install Add-on From File, Debug Add-ons, Update Add-ons Automatically, Reset All Add-ons to Update Automatically, Manage Extension Shortcuts". If I right-click the gear I get a line of icons (left, right, reload, star) followed by "Open Image in New Tab, Copy Image Link, Email Image, Save Page As, Select All, View Pate Source, Inspect Accessibility Properties, Inspect (Q)". If I right-click the extension in the Add-ons Manager page itself, I get a very similar list. In no case is there a pin to toolbar option.

How do I pin an extension, given the above? What have I messed up?

For the last few weeks i've noticed youtube vids buffer but then sometimes stop and when the video reaches that point on the bar it skips about 5-10 seconds, then contines to buffer like normal, so I have to use the arrow keys to go back to see what I missed. It is very annoying. Happens almost 1-2 every day at random times. My wifi speed is good. I've cleared cookies and caches, turned off enhanced tracking protection for youtube, i've even increased perfomance settings for intel graphics in my pc's power manegment plan. Nothing! Can anyone help, thanks.

Keep getting this response from browser or bank log-in site: "You were signed out due to inactivity, but you can log in again whenever you’re ready."

Able to access site on MS Edge using same pwd and user ID

I am using latest of Firefox and DuckDuckGo. When I type something in the main search bar (in the middle of screen) the text moves to the search field in the toolbar area. I find this annoying. I want to text to remain in the main search bar (middle of screen). Any solution?

I have issues since a few months that Firefox loads website only when I actively click on the app and put in foreground. Then the tabs start loading. Why is that?

After startup of Windows 10, I usually run a little batch script of mine starting various applications such as Outlook, Notepad++ etc, including Firefox along with my favourite websites, just like this:

start "" "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Firefox.lnk" https://de.wikipedia.org https://www.google.de [and more...]

So Firefox loads and opens all the tabs in the background, while other apps such as Outlook or Notepad++ come in the foreground. I read mails etc. before I decide to check e.g. Wikipedia. So it might take 5 minutes after Firefox got opened before I actively put it in the foreground. THEN I see no websites got loaded, and THEN Firefox starts to load the websites, which then takes the normal amount of time of a few seconds.

I wonder why Firefox does not load all my requested websites directly after start in the background.

An annoying side effect is, when still in Outlook and clicking on a website link in an email, it won't open in Firefox, most likely due to that reason that Firefox still waits for all the other websites to load. I need to put it into foreground, wait for the loading process to complete, and then go back to the email and click on the link again.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

There are a bunch of obsolete suggestions on opening FF without address bar, menu bar, etc., and kiosk mode.

I do not want Kiosk mode, but do need ability to open it via command line so that only the title bar (and borders around the app.

The most current available entry on the matter in the Mozilla site no longer works (at least for me) --

firefox.exe" -ssb https://www.example-site.html/

Also even if it did, not viable to update all FF users as these are customers, and they won't, simple as that. Chromium browsers just work by passing the command by default.

This is for use to launch a local help/users guide from a Windows application. Can do so on Chrome/Edge, but leaving out FF is less than ideal.

I wanted to move the Firefox's automatically created bookmark folder "Other Bookmarks" into another folder (called To Sort folder). The folder was moved to the new location but it also remained in the "root" bookmarks folder. I tried to get it to be the other way round so that the "to-Sort" folder will be in the Bookmarks folder but- Trying to move it back it created a loop. Now when I go into the Other Bookmarks folder I can see the "To Sort" and it has a folder in it called "Other Bookmarks", which has the repeated same links and again the "To Sort" which has the "Other Bookmarks" which has the "To Sort" --> etc. ad infinitum

I contact you because, even without an adblocker, Youtube is very slow with Firefox navigator. I don't understand why and I don't have this problem with Google Chrome ? Fews years earlier, I never had this problem with slow Youtube when using Firefox Navigator. I don't know if the problem comes from Youtube or Mozilla and I contacted both of them.

Je vous contacte car, même sans bloqueur de publicité, Youtube est très lent avec le navigateur Firefox. Je ne comprends pas pourquoi et je n'ai pas ce problème avec Google Chrome ? Quelques années plus tôt, je n'avais jamais eu ce problème de lenteur avec Youtube lorsque j'utilisais Firefox Navigator. Je ne sais pas si le problème vient de Youtube ou de Mozilla et je les ai contactés tous les deux.

I usually download and install manually the custom install of Firefox on Windows.

Recently, a new version was automatically installed without my permission and destroyed all my customization. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I had to restore the older version from backup and I was going to stop updating.

But I see that the manual custom installation is still available for download.

I want to make sure that if I use it it will not wipe out my customization again.

Please confirm.

Just installed latest version of Firefox - and cannot login into the browser to enable applications menu.

I can login into my Mozilla account but how do you login to this new version of the browser?

I would like to force spellcheck for all websites, and override any HTML code from the websites. which may be disabling it. This should be done automatically and not by inspecting and manually altering the HTML. I consulted with ChatGPT and tried adding some code to my existing userChrome.css but it is having no effect, even after clearing cache and restarting Firefox. For instance, faxzero.com has a form with spellcheck disabled. I tinkered with the CSS and kept testing faxzero, but the spellcheck always remains disabled. How can I accomplish my goal?

I have used Firefox exclusively for years. I use Hushmail but recently I am missing the respond to email bar that was always there. I have to use Edge and Chrome (but not a fan of) and Hushmail works like it used to. Something about Firefox must be the difference. Can you help me?

Can't log on to x.com. Getting this message: "Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection (Strict Mode) is known to cause issues on x.com".

I added x.com and twitter.com as an exception in Settings/Enhanced Tracking Protection and still not working.

What the heck firefox???
