suggestions why broswer ( any of my 3 ) often crashes when login to bank or ebay . then cannot open ANY browser without shutting down PC .
Running XP . when the browser crashes by a not responding message it can be closed in task manager and seems closed but it or I EX or chrome will not open . clicking the icon nothing at all happens. have to re-boot. When the PC restarts it is on the browser page that crashed with option to start again or try again. only relates to logins of bank ( not every time ) and sometimes Ebay. Any ideas what could be creating this problem . cheers and thanks SteveG

We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
- Enter about:crashes in the Firefox location bar (that's where you enter your website names) and press Enter. You should now see a list of submitted crash reports.
- Copy the most recent 5 report IDs that you see in the crash report window and paste them into your forum response.
Thanks in advance for your help!
More information and further troubleshooting steps can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.
Thanks for that Tylerdowner, but when i do that the last one listed is about a month ago , so the crashes I am concerned about that have been happening more recently than that are not recording on that log file ??
Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Could be a problem with a plugin.
You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:
- disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
- disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
- disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
Thanks for help so far. have checked everything suggested but the problem persists. any other thoughts please
Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.
Thanks Cor-el
In safe mode all seems fine ! What does that test imply about the nature of the problem ?
Did you also try Firefox Safe mode to see if hardware acceleration is causing the problem?
If it works in Windows Safe mode then you have a problem with other software, likely security software, that is running on your computer. Make sure that you have the latest updates of your security software.
You can use the Autoruns utility to see which software and services gets started.
