You can get latest version of Firefox from here
we already have firefox 8 downloaded, but it will not install. i need a installer, which came with 8 when i loaded it the first time.
On getfirefox.com you can download the installer and run it anywhere
OK now when i go to getfirefox.com do i have to reload 8 and the installer comes with it, or can i get the installer and install the 8 that i downloaded yesterday? i have 8 on my desktop, but there is no installer with it. thank you for your help
If you download it already, you dont need to download anymore, just follow previous post link to review installing instruction
Which Mac OS X version runs on that computer?
Today we tried to download firefox again, and still no luck. it downloads just fine, but when it is done there is a NO (/) sign over the little fox and there is this message"you can not open this application "Firefos" because it is not supported on this architecture. Now why does it say that, when i was running 8 before and then you sent me 9. everything was working fine, i thought 9 took over so i deleted 8 and then would not work at all. and also we can not drag the little fox over to the application folder. my son said before when he loaded firefox that the installer came first and it is not doing that now. what is the problem here, how can we get you to send us the program, or give us a phone # so we can talk about this. thank you for your help Have good Thanksgiving
we have done everything that you have told us to do, and none of it works.
Firefox 4 versions and later do not run on a PowerPC Mac.
Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.
what do you mean by a power pc mac. we have a standard mac laptop. and we were running 8 firefox everything working just fine until they sent 9 and then we deleted 8 because we thought 9 would take over, so i do not understand your answer

That usually indicates that you are running a computer with a PowerPC processor.
Are you sure that you had Firefox 8 and not a Firefox 3.6.x version on that computer?
yes he was using firefox 8.?, and then the company sent him 9 and he installed it and everyithing was working fine until he deleted 8.?. he had been using 8 for a couple years. he had received a few updates to it.
If it is indeed a Mac with a PowerPC CPU then you can look at this version.
For an unofficial Firefox 8 compatible version (TenFourFox) that runs on PowerPC Macs with OS X 10.4.11 or OS X 10.5.8 you can look at:
what i can not figure out is way we can not load 8, since foxfire 8 was on that computer for over a year maybe 2. did they change forfire 8? now do any of you people know how to set your computer back. say today it the 24th, and several things are messed up, so there is a way to go into your computer and type in a date like the 16th of Nov and that fixes everything. maybe we can get it back that way
Firefox 8 has been released on Nov 4 this year, so can't have had that version for longer than that.
If you had it for more than two years then it most likely has been a Firefox 2 or 3 version.
Which Mac OS X version is running on that computer and what CPU is in it?
NO it was foxfire 8. i can tell the difference between a 3 and a 8. maybe he didn't have it as long as i thought he had. maybe it was just less than a year, but it was foxfire 8
Endret
Nov this year they sent him firefox 9, and that is when we got into trouble, because he thought that 9 was the boss and cancelled 8.
you people have talked a lot but nobody has told me how to solve the problem. has foxfire changed 8 and 9 to a plug and play, not needing a installation program? i wish that you had a phone number so i could talk to you about this. if i go back to 4 and then install that and then go on to 6,7,8,& 9 will that work. come on people you have to have some idea
