Firefox 4.0RC, my home page is "about:blank"

Sometimes I get into a weird state with the initial tab that opens when I first start Firefox. I open more tabs, visit sites, and things work fine. When I'm finished, I will close tabs that I no longer need. Sometimes, if I try to close that first tab, it does not disappear from the display. However, if I try to click on that tab, Firefox locks up.

It seems like I can duplicate this problem with just a few steps. 1) Start Firefox (one tab opens to a blank page) 2) Open new tab (so 2 tabs are open, both blank) 3) Try to close the FIRST tab At this point, the tab still appears in the tab bar, but nothing happens when I try to click on it.
