I am running version 3.6.13 on a Dell laptop. When I logged on today my Firefox home page has changed. It is missing the Firefox sprite (the fox wrapped around the earth with a dark blue bar. All I have is a Google search bar (which still works) on an otherwise white screen. All my tabs and menus are still at the top of the page as before. I have tried system restore and starting Firefox in safe mode - all to no avail. I want my Firefox page back! My PC has the old Firefox page and has had no problems so far.

Tried following suggestions on both of these links - didn't solve my problem. The Firefox sprite is still missing on my laptop and the page is almost blank except for the Google search bar and the tabs on the top of the page. Plus now I'm getting a balloon on my PC (which still has the correct Firefox logo) that says there is an IP address conflict when I turn on my laptop. What the heck is going on? I tried doing a system restore on my laptop yesterday - could this be the reason for the IP conflict balloon that appeared on my PC when I turned on the laptop this morning? I hadn't had any problems with my laptop until after I downloaded an Adobe update a couple of days ago. Plus I had installed the latest version of Picasa 3 (which the system restore removed). Can't think of anything else.

You can check the image exceptions.

See:

  • You can see the permissions for the domain in the current tab in Tools > Page Info > Permissions
  • You can see all exceptions in Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions
  • You can check the Tools > Page Info > Media tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images)

You need to check the TCP/IP network settings on the laptop and make sure that you haven't set it to a fixed IP, but use a DHCP server to get the IP to avoid duplicate IPs.
