I've performed a system file check and it turns out fine : O What do you mean by it's odd? and those files listed, are they at fault or could they be causing the problem?

Hi, since it doesn't happen in Safe Mode, please see - Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems. You may need to disable your add-ons/themes one by one to find the culprit.

I am also suspicious of Symantec Intrusion Detection, so perhaps you could try disabling that.

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.

As a test, disable your anti-virus. Come back here and poke around. Are there any problems?

Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe web sites. Is the problem still there?
