I recently added the Firefox Private Browsing feature and I believe I made a mistake. Since then my computer often slows to a crawl and I have to restart it to get it to function normally. I wish to delete the Firefox Private Browsing feature to end any burden it may be on my computer. I do mean delete and not disable.

How can I remove the Firefox Private Browsing feature?

Since sometime in August 2021, I suspect after an update, occasionally when I launch Firefox it reports that it was unable to restore a previous session. I do not have the option to open previous sessions selected. On other occasions it starts properly with a blank page as it is configured to do.

Am I missing a setting?

It is not a major problem, I can simply enter a URL or search string in the address bar and it works properly for the rest of the session.

It is happening both on my Windows 8.1 Pro and Windows 10 Pro PCs running the 64-bit version of Firefox.

Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you.

When I do a web search for genuine companies/stories/facebook etc I get this "clickserve.dartsearch.net" listed in the search heading!

The search then either times out or it blocks access to the person/company I want to visit

I have Malwarebytes scartching their heads and even my VCN do not know what is goinf on :(

An unexpected firefox crash has completely ruined where I was before. I am completely bewildered over this one. I lost my bookmarks so I´ve selected toolbars and the bit regarding new folder but nothing happens. This step by step approach isn´t working and in no time a time out occurs. I cannot restore and opening a new tab all I get is an unstoppable wheel. It´s pretty hopeless.

Has anyone any ideas ? rich

I do not have any mobile device to sync with Firefox. HOWEVER, I would like to sync with Outlook.com from Microsoft. Centurylink my ISP provider was off-line for quite a while so they could create a better email program and when they finally came back online, last week, there were a list of things in computer language that I am supposed to do but do not understand. Like you, whenever I want to ask a question I have to send it via email then the response is the same thing listed in their instructions, NO HELP at all. Now, on a daily basis, I am receiving emails from Microsoft Outlook stating "Please update your credentials for the account Rhonda89@q.com." "It looks like we don't have permission to get email for Rhonda89@q.com."

The daily emails from Microsoft Outlook started on October 24, 2022, about the time Centurylink Email came back on line, I think. They did not send any messages advising us of this. I happened to find the information when I looked for it online.

I am still attempting to reach someone at Centurylink for help...lol

In the meantime, is there anything you can do to assist in this endeavour.

Today my Firefox upgraded to 89.0. The new update has resized the toolbar etc at the top of my browser. Because it's now bigger my theme no longer fits, so I have an ugly blank bar that goes right across my bookmarks. The problem seems to be that the tabs area has increased in size. How can I resize this so that my theme fits again?

In Firefox's toolbar there is an unknown ad blocker named Ad Blocker. This is NOT Ad Block.

This supposed ad blocker is not blocking ads and cannot be uninstalled; it does not show up as an extension or add-on.

I also interferes with other ad blockers like Ad Block, so I had to uninstall the latter

The symbol for this Ad Blocker in the menu/toolbar at the top is a shadowed, almost invisible, backward hand, the mirror opposite of the hand symbol Ad Block uses as its insignia.

I cannot find any information about this Ad Blocker ad blocker online.

Does anyone know about it and how to get rid of it?

Also - I've run three version of anti-malware software and none found it or got rid of it.

Created - Boomer With A View September 19, 2013 there are 2 Facebook accounts one is my original account the other is fraudulent and I can't recover my account or my blog account Boomer With A View. I just don't know where to go for help. No one ever helps me to get my account , friends, groups, messengers back. Please help me or tell me where to go to get help. The search engines I've added do not appear in the list after clicking the green + sign in the search box and they do not appear in the list in the options either. I used the "add more search engines" found in the bottom of the search engines list to find the missing engines and add them again, but when I find the engine I want to add there is only the "remove" button. So this tells me the missing engines in the list are still there but not accessible. I tried removing the added search engine and then adding it again but this did not make them appear in the search engine list. Everything was working fine until getting the last update before Firefox 89. Is there a way to fix this???

With the last update the Bookmarks have a wide distance when listed. Too wide! I have to scroll down endlessly to find things. Before they were neatly narrow and you could see twice as much. Kindly repair this next time please. Or can I do this? Best Ursula Zürich

Why I cannot change these settings:

• Use custom settings for history
• Firefox will remember your browsing, download, form, and search history.
• Always use private browsing mode

I need this setting:

• Never remember history

Or, maybe, that is the same?

I'm in Amazon.com web site I have tried to play a video that I rented on line, but I get a message that reads (Firefox is installing components needed to play the audio or video on this page) please try again later. which have for the last two days since installing firefox as my net browser. What can I do to improve this or have the components install sooner? any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
