I'm curious what sort of twisted soul thought ignoring the user's configured start page(s) and displaying a pile of worthless crap telling us how great Firefox is supposed to be, was a good idea. Especially the [unprintable] clown who decided to add this "feature" in an update without providing any information, explanation, or opportunity to opt out.
And, then hiding the information about how to turn this garbage off several pages down is just adding insult to injury.
Guess what, folks, Chrome is looking better and better here.
At least Chrome and Opera both have autofill that actually works properly - including recognizing fields in online forms, while the autofill in Firefox hasn't worked even close to as well for about a year now.
But at least now I know what the developers have been working on that kept them too busy to fix existing bugs -- they were busy inventing a new way to drive users away from Firefox.
Yes, I am venting.
I wasn't quite this annoyed when I first came here, but then I had to try to log in. Due to the number of times Mozilla has changed the login system, I already had THREE saved logins for the site... And none of them worked because they were all with usernames and now the site wants an email address (and, of course, when they made the change they threw away the existing user accounts instead of just using the email address and password that was already associated with the username).
So, yes, I am venting, because I am tired and disgusted.
Why do I need Authorisation codes to login to Firefox Browser every single time I login, every day, forever? WHY?

Every single time I install and login to the Firefox Broswer you block me and say I need to now login to my email to get an 'auth code' to login to Firefox. Why? No other site in the world does this. Who came up with this idotic idea. If I gave you my username and password already then that is all you need, dummy. You DO NOT get to demand I now got and login to another site (my email) to get a bloddy 'auth code' to login to the thing I should ALREADY be logged into by this point? WHy are you retarded babies wasting my precious time with your idiotice religious rituals? I DO NOT NEED AN EUTH COED TO LOG IN TO FIREFOX! STOP THIS!

I know this question has been posed more than once in the past. The answer has always been: go back to school, learn computer programming, get master classes and practice with coding until you make it. I am using Watefox since when Firefox tab bar was moved close to the sky. I just decided to try Firefox again: I have installed it and the first thing I tried to do is moving the tab bar below the address bar. It seems that there's no easy way. How can it be?, I wondered. With Waterfox I use the Tabs on Bottom add-on and that's it. You may believe my need is frivolous, but for me that makes the difference between keeping or uninstalling Firefox. Bottom line: is still forbiddend to wish to get the tab bar where I believe it should be? Thanks,

I raised this (and it was off-topic, so my apologies) in the recent thread about getting the tabs back to below the address bar following the update to 71.0. Having successfully done the move - and thanks to everyone for the help - I'd now like to restore the appearance of the tabs and the tab bar to what I had before the update. I suspect that that was thanks to installing a theme, but I'm afraid I no longer have the details.
I'm attaching a pic of what I'd like to achieve.
Cor-el kindly gave me this for my UserChrome.css file:
.tabbrowser-tab:not([selected]) .tab-content { background-color: #99EEFF !important; }
and that goes some way. But I'd still like to generate a vertical gap between the tabs, round off their top corners, and change the background colour. Despite searching around I haven't yet found the specific coding to do this: if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be very grateful. Many thanks.

Prior to upgrading to FF 69.0 I had my chrome file configured to hide icons in my bookmark toolbar. With the update to FF 69.0, the icons have reappeared. How do I fix this again? Previously I had utilized this method:
"Yes, you can paste the full code posted above including the @namespace line. The :not([container]) selector means that you still have the folder icons with bookmarks folders. If you want to hide the icons for folders as well then leave out this selector."
@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */ #personal-bookmarks .bookmark-item .toolbarbutton-icon { display:none!important;

Updating to Firefox 71.0 was a catastrophe. I lost all my open tags though RESTORE PREVIOUS SESSION was enabled. I had quite a while, till I figured out how Firefox really does restore previous sessions. The lost tabs though were gone.
But one problem is remaining. I can not restore closed tabs with 71.0. Ctrl+shift+T does not work anymore.
How can I enable it again Or is there a new combination for it

Firefox is crashing (BSOD) my computer (PC with Win7x64) daily, during mouse movement or during auto-scrolling after clicking the middle mouse button. It usually happens at least once per day, and has been happening for weeks. FF, Windows and my mouse driver are up to date. I have tested memory many times (using Memtest86) and my hard drive. I have no crashes except in Firefox during mouse activity.
The BSOD reports vary. Recent ones: Bad Pool Caller (019 and 0C2), PFN List Corrupt (04E), Memory Management Error (01A), ??? (07E), System Service Exception (033). The only consistent thing is using the mouse within Firefox.

We have an embedded device that uses self signed certificates. Firefox is very slow doing the handshaking and cgi calls. Chrome operates fine. Attached is the timing of some of the cgi calls. Where Chrome takes 325ms Firefox takes over 12 seconds for the same call. What would cause the 2 to be so different? Is there anything we can change on the html headers to make faster?
