If I launch Firefox and immediately click in the URL bar to type in a search, instead of preventing the page URL from appearing, it adds it after my cursor once the page has loaded. For example, if I launch Firefox and immediately start typing "weather in my area" it becomes "weather in my areahttps://www.youtube.com/feed/subscriptions".

This is a mild frustration, but a persistent one. It must be possible to fix, because other browsers (Chrome) are clever enough to not add any text once the user clicks the URL bar. What can I do to stop this from happening?

Hi there,

I'm migrating from Arc Browser and I was looking for a way to have two profiles, one for personal and one for work; for each have separate browsing history, cookies etc. and be able to switch between them either with a keyboard shortcut or in two clicks like in Arc.

If I understand correctly I can separate the users by going to about:profiles and creating such profiles, however the switch between them doesn't seem as seamless. I guess I'd like to create two separate workspaces rather than profiles, with complete separation of everything I do within each.

I tried the Multi-Account Containers extension but it doesn't seem to be this its purpose.

Hope I was clear in the explanation, apologies for the newbness.

I have windows 11 pro 23H2 and latest Firefox installed. I have no keyboard attached to computer and when I touch the adress bar nothing happens, touch keyboard does not show up. I tried with 3 different computers. Edge and Chrome works and shows the touch keyboard. Any suggestions or is there a bug?

I am one among many who keep a lot of windows open for reference. When my compootie shuts down inadvertantly I am avle to use "Restore Session" to get these back. But occasionally the system shuts down and I am unable to restore anything, and this can cost me tens of hours os referencing, and untold hours of productivity.

Could you save the open windows in an easily accessible file that we could use to restore previous sessions? This would save a lot of us considerable grief.

I have been signing in to a certain secure website for years on Firefox. In the last 24 hours, it won't let me sign in and all I see is:

I have tried 20 times. There is nothing wrong on the website; my wife can access the same on her Mac computer.

Also, I just wanted to restore the Basic Toolbar- that mysteriously disappeared. There was no option for that under the hamburger & more tools. Instead I now have a 3rd toolbar because of the customization options -- & I don't know how to get rid of that/ It appears UNDER my tabs bar.

As a test I tried logging in with Google Chrome and was successful so it is likely something with the last update of Firefox. Note that I am using Windows 7 and do not want to change to a newer version.

Yesterday morning everything was fine. I attempted to check something last night on my Fidelity account, and got the following message: "Sorry, we can't complete this action right now. Please try again." Same this morning. Fidelity could not figure it out, and is sending me to you for assistance.

FYI: I am able to connect to all other accounts I attempted: NY Times, Chase bank, etc. Also, when I tried to log in to Fidelity via Microsoft Edge, I was able to get in. (NOTE: I DO NOT wish to use Edge or any other browser - I prefer Firefox)

Can someone help me?

In general, getting to the "ask a question" button in the support website is like finding hens teeth.

Which is all well documented if you know it. But the user interface is just crap here. Especially in Dutch. Because 'opfrissen' is something that sounds totally innocent in my native language. I at most expected it to remove some cache memory. The last thing I expect pushing a button with that name is that it does what it did, without any warning! PLEASE change that. And please do not translate it with 'opfrissen', just explicitly say: Go back to standard configuration and remove extensions. I am not dumb that I could not understand what that should do. Opfrissen.... Pfff, please change at least the translation!

And I got really angry when it happened!

I occasionally get this message when opening Firefox, but a retry always works. Not when trying to get into my Ooma account. And yet it works without any problem on Safari. I would prefer to use Firefox.
