hi about 2 days ago ff stopped working. i type an address into the usual window like i've done a million times, hit enter, and nothing happens. i click on a bookmark, the url shows up in the address window, but nothing happens. there are maybe 3 bookmarks that still work, and all the rest are duds. auto-complete still works, but firefox refuses to take to the address. i get a lot of "flash crashes" (thanks, adobe) so i recently updated flash, and that started the problem. this is why i distrust updates. (for the record, i keep current with firefox updates, even though it is still bloatware that uses 2 GB just to run 3 windows. anyway, any help you could offer would be most... helpful! (not sure why my exclamation points are printing as open-brackets, but hey, whatever, that's the internet) thanks, tim

Firefox 33.1 Every time I relaunch Firefox, I get multiple scripts errors. Clicking the buttons does nothing. I always have to force quit Firefox at least once for things to settle down. At someone's suggestion, I installed No Script, but that created other issues I don't want to deal with, so I removed the Add-On. Could the problem have anything to do with numerous tabs in two different windows? Thanks, in advance, for your help.

I depend on Group Tabs and if/when FireFox crashes sometimes sessionstore.js gets corrupted. I regularly archive copies of that file so I can recover. In one of the latest versions (after 11/8/2014) it appears that you have either changed the method or hidden sessionstore.js somewhere other than on my C:/ drive. it is no longer "findable" with "show hidden files" turned on

1. Will you tell me/us where it is now located or 2. Tell me/us how to recover our sessions

I clicked on the menu button and all there is below "Developer" is my email address (JMARKSCHWARTZ at GMAIL dot COM). There is no "Sign in to Sync". Your "Note" says that "If you don't see a Sync section in the menu, you are signed in to the old version of Sync." Then there is a link entitled "How to update to the new Firefox Sync." I clicked this link and found a statement to upgrade to the latest version of Firefox. Well, I already have the latest version of Firefox, 33.0.1 on my Windows 8.1, 64-bit laptop. So what gives? Will you PLEASE let me know how I can sync all of my bookmarks and home page to my new Surface Pro 3. I've already downloaded and installed the same version of Firefox on the Surface Pro 3. Thank you.

When I boot my computer lately,about three of my favourite FF (ver 33.1.1) add-ons are no longer installed.These include Lazarus,X-notifier,and Theme Font and Size Changer.I can reinstall them manually,but it is becoming a pain to do so.I find that when I DO reinstall,the add-ons seem to remember my previous settings,such as X-notifier,which still has my Hotmail accounts and passwords when I reinstall it. Please advise,thanks!

As title says. No idea how this is happening either. Clearing Cookies and cache seem to either change the way the image is distorted or maybe even fix it. Thing is, this happens so often that it's not a viable option, something is very wrong here. Tried saving image to disk, the whole image file is distorted in exactly the same way it was in the browser.

I pushed the reset button of Firefox, but not knowing that I would then loose ALL http passwords! It was a shock to me! How can I get them back? Where to search? The wastebin?

Adblock Plus worked perfectly until Firefox reached v.31 when, suddenly, in both my laptops, it began to prevent Gmail from opening. Disabling the other 5 extensions has no effect. Disabling Adblock Plus (with the other 5 extensions enabled or disabled) immediately solves the problem. The problem does not occur in Chrome.

I read the previous thread about this problem under FF 32 but wasn't able to respond there, so I'm starting a new thread.

I have had this problem for some time, back under FF 32. I even downloaded and reinstalled FF and when that didn't work, did the reset procedure. The update to 33.1.1 hasn't helped.

I'm running OS X 10.6.8 and Apple Mail v. 4.6. I keep FF open on my desktop after starting it. Usually it works OK when first started but then stops opening links or becomes erratic, sometimes opening them and sometimes not.

Any help/suggestions/news about this issue will be much appreciated.

I am in Canada and have been using firefox without issue for years. After the recent update to firefox when I try to do a search using the firefox search bar, I only get results now from google japan. If I change to yahoo or others I get english search results. However when switching back to google I get japanese search results again. If I go to google.com directly I get english search results like normal. HELP!!!!!! Why is this happening now after all these years????????

I have my home page set to MSN.com and before all my problems with Firefox 34 started it had always opened to that page. Now suddenly, even though the home page is still set to MSN.com Firefox is opening to something called http.com. I have no idea where this is coming from or how to stop it. The images I've uploaded will show that the home page is still set and what I get when I open Firefox. Does anyone know what is going on and how to stop it?

I am using a Apple iMac and when I opened my email using Firefox the email filled the whole screen. Up on the right hand side of the screen was a circle with the letter 'W' in it. Each time I pressed that button different letters appeared. What's up with that? There was no way for me to get away from the full screen display other than using the escape button. I restarted my computer and the full screen display is still there. What do I need to do to fix this?

Anyone have any fixes for abode flash player invading viewing on many streaming video sites? It seems the latest version won't allowing viewing on most sites without allowing them to track me. I realize it may be the site doing this but it didn't start happening until I downloaded the most recent adobe version this morning.

When I visit some websites, instead of the URL for that site showing up in my address bar, I get this long string of weird looking icons that stretch all the way across the address bar and into the search bar. I've never seen this before until just a few months ago. When I click on the icon on the far left inside the address bar I get this message: "This website does not supply identity information".

Is there any way to get rid of these icons and have the website URL show up instead?

When I open websites all text appears as little square boxes. I un-installed Firefox 33.1 and restarted my laptop. I re-installed Firefox and again re-started my laptop. The issue is the same. I read an article that stated to adjust the zoom to see if the font size would rectify the situation. That did not work for me. Another article said to be sure that each website can select its' own fonts/sizes. That was all set also.

every time I shut off firefox and come back after any length of time, its forgotten I even had adblock plus installed, or videodownload helper.

I've now reset firefox to factory specs in an effort to clear this up.

I keep getting this message: Sync encountered an error while syncing: Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action. [Sync Now]

If I click that button, the error message goes away for all of 1 second and comes right back. Forever. All google searches have come up dead so far or ended in some joker with suggestions that go along the lines of "disable Sync". I'm sorry but please don't suggest that crap here. If your car broke down would you like it if your mechanic told you to just walk instead?

I've been struggling for days with FF. My FF28--which had been perfect--suddenly started to lose add ons. Despite scanning with everything I could find, I could find no faults with the pc. No sooner would I put the extension back, than it was gone again. I lost three custom buttons altogether.

As the version was old, I bit the bullet and uninstalled, cleaned the reg, and downloaded the latest version.

I've tried it several times: spent all night reformatting it, but then my extensions were gone again today, and it was back to standard. I read that some people are having trouble with Avast, but I have not updated mine lately. Just to be on the safe side I've turned off the browser parts of the version I do have. But somehow I don't think it's fixed.

I've put as many addons as I can remember back, but FF33 just looks plain wrong. It looks like it is made up of much bigger and rather childish components than before. (I have a version of FF31 in the sandbox, and this still looks correct, but I don't know if I can just copy the profile from that?)

For a start, the window contents of the tabs are too big to fit in the window, and I have to zoom down to 80% to remove the scroll bars. Even then the text and symbols in the add ons window are still big and crude.

The customization panel has gone such a dark blue that you can barely see the icons on the toolbars, and it has a graph paper grid that wasn't there before. It is too big to fit in the window.

Despite having the toolbar and buttons set as small as Classic themes will allow they are still big and blurry compared with what I am used to. It look like a child's version.

I did have Hide caption titlebar plus, that allowed the window buttons to be moved into several positions vertically before, but they only have one position now (right on the top edge). I found previously that having these buttons in a middle position, kept the other buttons small, but I can't do that now.

This is all very frustrating, when I have a working copy in the sandbox but can't get it out. I'll attach snips of the good and bad toolbar areas so that you can see the crude layout that is the best that I can achieve, now. It's almost as if we are looking at FF though a magnifying glass!
