I love and defend Firefox but I have to admit that it is giving me some grief lately. I run a Dropbox account which I access through the browser and its UI allows for drag and drop file uploads as well as more 'conventional' file uploading. In recent days I find certain file uploads are OK via Firefox (such as a 1mb PDF) but I cannot upload for instance a 30mb MP3 or a ZIP file - it tries but ultimately fails. A small 500kb MP3 is fine so it seems to be a file size rather than file type issue (there is a Dropbox limitation on file size but I am way below that). Also when using Firefox with the same Dropbox UI, I get odd errors like 'folder does not exist' even when I am not trying to access a folder or 'there was a problem completing the request' when trying to access a folder, even when it then allows access. I have raised all this with Dropbox forum and I am advised it is a browser problem (they would say that right?). However, I have control-tested using Safari and IE, etc, and I cannot replicate any of the problems. Uploads of large files (the exact same files) are fine in those browsers, no odd errors while testing. I was using Fx V 22x on Win7 x64 Pro but today got a push notification to update to Fx v23.0.1 which I have done, but still these problems persist. My plugins were few, long installed, and sound (Tabmix Plus, Firebug, FireFTP, etc) and not conflicted or out of date. Java was not enabled in the browser. However, to further control test, I have just done a Firefox RESET from the help menu and tried again without any plugins running. Same problem with larger file upload. It seems Firefox is having some issues doing things that other browsers are fine about...

For some reason, when I try and click on form and search history under the clear history tab it's greyed out (all of the other options for clearing history are available)

I don't seem to be able to find any answers to WHY this is (which I would like to know) and also I've tried to follow instructions (factory reset firefox, restart computer etc) but for some reason it doesn't make any difference and I really don't know what to do. I'm not particularly tech savvy so any help would be really really appreciated

According to what I have read thus far the decision to remove the 'enable javascript' option was for our own good, and in fact javascript is enabled by default.... except when it isn't. I have been unable to access the review links on allrecipes.com to read what other cooks say about the recipes. Minor issue, maybe, but the little message that comes up is "javascript; void(0)". When I asked the site managers for help they told me javascript must be enabled to see these ... so... clearly it isn't enabled. I tried adding the "quickjava" addon, but it doesn't help. I can get to these comments instantly via Chrome, but not Firefox at all. This is just one of a series of 'improvements' which have been making my web browsing increasingly troublesome recently. I don't particularly like Chrome, but it is rapidly becoming the better option in terms of basic usability. Please tell me there is a way to simply re-enable javascript - thank you!

Running a version of Linux, the default application for PDF files is "Use Document Viewer (default)", which appears to be /usr/bin/evince. I'd much prefer to use /usr/bin/okular; how can I change the default. This question is NOT about how to change the function that is automatically applied when I access a link, in this case "Preview in Firefox", but rather to the default application that I can select when I download a file being viewed in Firefox's previewer.

Hi, After clearing the cache, the browser assumes some of the files are still cached so it won't try to get the file from the server. This causes the website to hang as it does not timeout.

It does not always happen, for example in my machine is OK, but a colleague's machine has it consistently and other people too. The only way that they could make it work is going to about:support and doing a reset.

The Troubleshooting Information I've added is from the problematic machine.

regards, Daniel.

Seemingly after upgrading to the latest version (23.0.1), scrolling with my MacBook Pro's Trackpad is not working. I've reset, disabling all add-ons, which has not corrected the problem. If someone knows how I can fix this issue, please let me know. If not, does anyone know how I can go back to the previous version without losing my data? All feedback is greatly appreciated!

Keyboard and mouse wheel response in Firefox is "jerky".

In the case of keyboard response, sometimes I can type steadily and see characters appear, while other times several seconds may go by before I see the letters I type (for example, in filling out this form it happened three times to this point).

The same is true of the scroll wheel on my Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 mouse.

At first I thought it was system-wide as I spend most of my computer time on my work computer, but I recently realized it's really only Firefox.

I'd rather not do a total reset of Firefox if I can avoid it, as I still have a user chrome folder and a small handful of manually set about:config settings in addition to a few add-ons... unless I have certain knowledge that that will fix the issue(s).

Hello, I have followed all MDN guidelines and researched for hours best practices for deploying @fontface and custom web fonts. I believe I have followed all best practices and I have even had it working in the firefox browser at times. In fact, I believed I had things set up properly when I had the fonts working on my web pages in all modern browsers during testing. Yet, when I looped back to the web pages again today (about two weeks after I last tested last) I noticed that the fonts are again not registering when the pages are viewed in firefox. I confirmed that they are working in all other modern browsers. This is a sample page where the fonts are called, http://www.areadevelopment.com/Top-States-for-Doing-Business/Q3-2013/survey-results-landing-page-142378.shtml These are icon fonts of states and they should appear before each state on the top states list. Instead, the font doesn't appear and the associated letter appears as a fallback. The @fontface is registered in the pages main css doc and all selectors that use the fontface are subsequent to the @fontface declaration within the document. The fonts are hosted on my CDN (aws cloudfront) and all CORS has been set up appropriately. In fact, you will see that when loading the page there are no errors in the dev tools console related to the fonts. And, by going to the "fonts" filter within the net tab you can see the 200 status. At this point I am exhausted. I am reaching out to you guys in desperation -- any insight you can provide as to why the fonts are not working in FF when they work in all other modern browsers would be very much appreciated... Regards, Justin
