I was browsing as normal when I navigated to a site I have been to many times and that I consider reputable (Etsy) and the browser immediately went to a screen that said something about how Firefox had done updates in the background and I needed to click a button to "Restart Firefox." Obviously this looked fishy to me and I didn't click; instead I killed Firefox via the command line and then restarted it. When I did, one of my windows didn't look right (I had two windows open, each with several tabs)-- the tab bar at the top just cut off halfway through one of the tabs instead of me being able to scroll over. In addition, right after I was playing a game on my computer and part of the game board froze. Now everything seems normal. Is it possible I managed to end up with some malware even though I didn't click on the link? Has anyone seen this particular scam before?
Thank you!

Using Firefox Developer Edition version 71.0b11 (64 bit).
I store credentials for the site I visit most frequently. For some of those sites I may have multiple logins. Everything good so far.
Currently, when I'm on the login page for any of those site, the suggested list includes credentials "From this web site" and from other more or less similar websites (e.g. subdomains, internal pages, and so on). Can I disable this option and only see suggestions "From this web site"?

Version: firefox-70.0-1.fc30.x86_64 [Fedora 30. GNOME. Wayland]
I tried running with --safe-mode [all extensions disabled], but it kept happening. Does the following match any known problem?
I don't have any crash information recorded by firefox. So I've tried running it in a terminal instead and capturing the console output.
- No firefox crash recordings
The crash report dialogue does *not* appear when Firefox crashes.
Firefox support articles also suggested I look in "about:crashes". However when I visit "about:crashes", Firefox just says "Hmm. That address doesn’t look right. Please check that the URL is correct and try again."
In "~/.mozilla/firefox/Crash Reports/submitted/", there are several files but they are all older than the current month (November 2019).

I added several custom search engines to Firefox on Linux by right-clicking their search bar and clicking "Add a Keyword for this search". Now I want to set one of them as my default search engine. However, despite the custom ones are working flawlessly with a keyword, I can't find them in the Firefox settings. I know that there are Plugins for several search engines available, and it is even possible to create an own one, but I don't want to install a plugin just for a search engine I already have. Any suggestions?

The title of my question is a bit hard to understand. Let me try to explain.
My library gives me electronic access to the Oxford English Dictionary (my favorite dictionary, with all those helpful quotes/example sentences!)
What I should get:
1. Go to http://www.vpl.ca/digital-library/oxford-english-dictionary
2. Click the "Access Now" button (link to https://www.vpl.ca/extDB/login.remoteDB?OxfordEnglishDictionary)
3. I'm taken to a page that says "VPL Electronic Resource Authentication", where I enter my library card number and PIN.
4. I enter my card number and PIN, then press the Authenticate button
5. I'm taken to to a page that says "Your login was successful." I then press the "Continue ➡️"
6. I'm taken to https://www.oed.com/ where i can now happily use the dictionary
What I experience:
1. Go to http://www.vpl.ca/digital-library/oxford-english-dictionary
2. Click the "Access Now" button (link to https://www.vpl.ca/extDB/login.remoteDB?OxfordEnglishDictionary)
3. I'm taken to http://www.vpl.ca/digitallibrary
4. If I go to oed.com directly, it shows that I'm not logged in /authenticated.

I have a dual-boot workstation with CentOS 6 and CentOS 7. Both installations have the same version of Firefox, v68.2.0esr and both systems are fully updated. When I boot CentOS 7 after running CentOS 6, Firefox insists on making a new profile because it thinks it can't use the old profile. That requires me to sync, customise, set preferences, et cetera. That's a PITA.

When I click a link in VS Code or Slack they'll both open in a new Firefox window with no extensions (so new profile I'm guessing, but I'm still signed in on it) instead of the existing Firefox window. Some apps like mailspring open in my existing Firefox window correctly. Or when I open a googler link in my terminal they'll also open correctly in the existing Firefox window.
I have tried going to about:config and changing browser.link.open_newwindow.override.external from -1 to 3 and it made no difference.

When developing an html or svg file I repeat editing content and style information and reload the file in Firefox. When editing styles I can't save them notifying cache. When editing content in external editor and reloading file all style changes are lost. However when editing styles in external editor, I can't force to reload them without deleting cache in general and when continuing to edit styles in Firefox all previously lost changes are lost on locally stored file as well. So how can I prevent Firefox from caching style information contained in local html or svg files?

I am on FF 70.0.1 (64-bit) and Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS.
Whenever i right click and scroll through the context menu, the pointer always seems to be lagging or leading the highlighted item, depending on whether i am moving up on down.
And sometimes, the click action seems to be selecting the wrong item, usually one index above or below the actual item i clicked.
This same behaviour is repeatable while scrolling using the keyboard up/down keys as well. Unlike the mouse, this keyboard enter key always selects the wrong item, one index below or above the actual highlighted item depending on whether i am moving up or down.
The only extension enabled right now is "Firefox Multi-Account Containers"

Basically I have Never Remember History enabled, and each time I open FF there's data in 'Cookies and Site Data'. Under 'Cookies and Site Data' it will say there's a bit of data (in the photo is says 16Kb, which is pretty typical). If I look under 'manage cookies and site data' there will be nothing there. Sometimes the cookies or cache or whatever is bigger if the last time I used that profile I was watching videos, at most it will be a couple Mb's maybe. If I wipe it out, it will go to 0Kb, and then for the rest of the profile session, even if I have a bazillion tabs open, it will say 0, but then there's always a cache there the next time I start that profile.
What is it? Why is there always a small amount of data in the 'Cookies and Site Data' section each time I restart a profile?
