I work in a company which manipulates its server in a way to make all unwanted sites look like not having a valid certificate so when I try to open them like gmail site I get a message that this site doesnt have a valid certificate and firefox - or any other browser- dont open the site. The question is: how to disable this feature in firefox to stop looking for sites certificates or doesnt care about them?

Did you try to contact the IT department to see if is is possible to install the root certificate of that proxy?

Does this happen in other browsers as well?

If not then inspect the certificate chain and see if you can export the root certificate and import this certificate in Firefox.

The IT people told me that "this is their way of making a firewall" This applies to all blocked sites not just one. The network doesnt use any proxy. This happens in other browsers as well. I am not sure how to export the root certificate. can you provide more explanation?

Exporting a root certificate in another browser would only be helpful if it did work in that browser. If it happens in other browsers as well then it would be of any help.

I'm not seeing the button to add an exception as that would allow to inspect the certificate in the Certificate Manager.

Is that specific page opened in an (i)frame?

If "I Understand the Risks" is missing then this page may be opened in an (i)frame and in that case try the right-click context menu and use "This Frame: Open Frame in New Tab".

I am not sure what you mean by "iframe" but that page was opened in a regular tab. I dont find a right click which offers "open frame in a new tab"

Hi Gentleman_10,

One way to check if it is in an iframe you can Right Click and "View Source" there will be an html tag with <iframe>. There will be a url in the src attribute that can help identify if it is in an iframe.

Thanks. When I clicked right and viewed the source I got the page in the pic attached. There was no iFrame option. I believe this problem could be solved if there was a way to tell Firefox to stop checking for certificates. Right now it doesn have that option.
