Click the Firefox button in the upper left hand corner, then click Options. Click Privacy. Then, where it most likely says "Firefox will: Remember History" select the drop down and select "Use custom settings for history". Then, you should see alot more options. Check the box next to "Clear History when Firefox closes", then click settings. You can select what you want it to clear (so if you just want to delete cookies, just check cookies off and uncheck everything else).

There is a setting: Firefox button > Options > Options (or Tools > Options) > Privacy, change "Keep until: to "I close Firefox"
