Bank website allows me to scan checks and it worked under 4.0 but now not with 5.0

I use to be able to scan checks into my banks website in order to make a deposit but with the release of 5.0 I can't do it any more. What is suppose to happen is that once on the site and connected to a scanner java will look for the attached scanner and then scan the check - but now java can't find my scanner for some reason even though the scanner is connected and I can make it work as a scanner but just not within Firefox.
