When I open Firefox & choose a website from bookmarks & then want to close that particular website Firefox completely closes when the black x is hit on the toolbar showing the websites I've been on. Then I have to reopen firefox to get to any other websit

Firefox completely closes when I am done with a website. I then have to reopen Firefox for each website I want to go to.

Are you clicking the close X on the title bar? Using that close X will close that browser window.

Does it also happen if you use File > Close Tab (Ctrl+W) or middle-click the tab on the tab bar ?
