My system: Win11, Firefox 146.1

After some system update I lost all bookmarks. I followed the solution proposal: FF options: Bookmarks..Manage bookmarks.. backup or restore: restore result: no library was shown.

I found an old bookmark file: C://user/mayname/AppData-all/Roaming/Mozilla/Firefox/Profiles/g0x.....default/bookmarkbackups from March 2021 But I do not know, how to handle it.

Update to my Question: when starting FF I receive this error msg: Das Lesezeichen- und Chronik-System wird nicht funktionieren, da eine der Dateien von Firefox von einer anderen Anwendung verwendet wird. Dieses Problem könnte von einer Sicherheitssoftware verursacht werden, beispielsweise von einem Virenscanner.

The bookmark and chronic system will not function, as one of the FF datasets is used by another app. This problem could be caused by a security app e.g. a virus scanner.

Solution: After deleting the files places.sqlite, places.sqlite-shm, places.sqlite-wal, favicons.sqlite, favicons.sqlite-shm and favicons.sqlite-wal from the FF profile and a restart of FF, the latest bookmarks were present again.
