Hi everyone,

I set up my Firefox for Android to delete cookies and cache when I click on "Close".

I was happy with it but I realized several months ago than websites as leboncoin.fr, amazon.fr, decathlon.fr (yes i'm french), didn't keep me loged in but remember what I had looked for and where I was. This problem is permanent.

I don't have this problem with Firefox for Windows.

So it seems something is nor cleared from the app when I close it.

Thank you very much for your help !

Relative to this question of how a website knows your identity in spite of the measure that aj14 has taken: I have wondered for years if websites were somehow able to access my device's IMEI. Does anyone know?

Hi PepiBlue,

I am definitly not an expert but my understanding is that an app who has the good permission can have your IMEI but a website can't (if anyone can confirm).

That's why I always prefer to use Firefox than an app if possible. And that's why i'm a little puzzled with my Firefox tracking problem...

Some news. I just figure out than goggle.com remembered my search history too (like for the others websites I m not loged in and i cleared cach, cookies and sites permissions).

Some other (good) news. I just found out a (demi) solution. Websites are loosing my tracks when I clear all my navigation history.

We now know where come the problem from. But I don't find ok needing not to have history to not be tracked.

And I don't understand why Firefof for Android is not capable of keeping my navigation history without giving fingerprints to websites, and it sounds like an unjustified problem to me.

Is it a known problem ?

Thank you
