What I would like to do is edit my bookmarks and passwords on my current device then be able to delete the Firefox online storage and sync the current live Firefox to a new online Firefox storage.

Did you use Sync in the past as there still appears to be older data on the Sync server ?

You can reset the password of the Sync account to reset all data stored in this account.

You can install the About Sync extension in Firefox 72 and newer on desktop to check what data is stored on the Sync server via the about:sync page provided by this extension.

Close and restart Firefox to access the about:sync page added by this extension (see the about:about page for possible about pages).
