I've been using Firefox for years most recently on a Windows machine but I've just switched back to a Mac. I'm having issues with bookmarks and I'm doing what I've always done but now am having a couple issues so I don't know if it is due to switching systems or if I have an issue.

In any case... I like my bookmarks in the toolbar so that is where I aim to put them. I exported my bookmarks from my PC, imported the file and thought I was fine but now I see that not all of the bookmarks are there in the toolbar, most are but not all. Then when I check the recently bookmarked, the missing ones are listed among the others but do not appear where I can find them.

Then I exported from my work PC to a file as before, imported the file and can not find any of them anywhere, keep trying and can't find them.

And now while on a page I click the blue star as I always have, have it pointed to the toolbar folder, click done, check the toolbar and not there. Keep trying and during the process I see an option to remove 3 bookmarks next to option DONE, so I suspect it is something I'm not understanding but on my PC I've never had issues with this.
