Lately scammers have been posting   (mainly in threads where no reply has been posted yet),   claiming to be Mozilla experts and asking users to either call a so-called toll-free phone number or giving them a link to a site, where they are promised to get expert help.
These posts of course are scams.
Hopefully informing you about this will scare them off and you won't see such scam post.

It's bad enough that the product sucks and that I have to deal with this shitty page every time I open the browser but then I have to come to this page where someone probably posts 100's of replies so that they can be a "top 10 contributor" but doesn't bother to read the question?

Did I say anything about Mozilla experts? Did I ask about scammers? Did I say that a support page popped up? Did I say a page popped up where there was a promise for expert help? Did I say anything remotely implying that the question you answered has anything do do with what was actually asked?

I am not the first person to ask this question...you could also do a little research on this but my best advice is to actually read people's post.

I'm going to give you a hint at what the problem is (it's the title of the post) -- "Firefox repeatedly opens with "Sorry, We're having trouble getting your pages back" That's the problem--and I'm not the first.

This can happen if you aren't closing Firefox properly or close down Windows before Firefox has finished and has create sessionstore.jsonlz4 in the profile folder.

Use one of these to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the Firefox Title bar.

• "3-bar" menu button -> Exit (Power button)
• Windows: File -> Exit
• Mac: Firefox -> Quit Firefox
• Linux: File -> Quit

Hi misc10, as cor-el notes, Firefox may commence crash recovery if the sessionstore.jsonlz4 file is missing when it starts up. The screen you are seeing indicates that automatic crash recovery either failed or was disabled, so Firefox presents the option to resume the last known session.

You probably do not have the setting for skipping automatic crash recovery and going straight to that screen, but I'll mention it at the end just in case.

In addition to shutdown failing to complete as designed, Firefox might also have trouble finding the expected session history files if third party cleaning software removes data or files from Firefox's profile folders. Programs that have been reported to do this in the past include CCleaner and AdvancedSystemCare. We suggest setting those not to touch Firefox data.

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste sess and pause while the list is filtered

The browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes preference normally has a value of 1 meaning it will make one attempt to restore the previous session automatically after a crash. If this is set to 0 then Firefox will simply skip to the screen you described.
