Sick and tired of asking! Community Volunteers are mostly a dumb bunch! Now that I have attention, why-oh-why does Firefox usually (but not always) whenIi want to print 3 or more pages, whether I try to Print or I go into Print Preview, Firefox only gives me the first page (and sometimes that is empty, except for the header) and then it give me the next (or first) page, then I get the 3 of 3 pages - even if there is more! Have to go to Chrome or another browser to print the whole 4, 5, 6, (or however) many pages. I do not think it is a 'settings' issue on my desktop...or any of my laptops. What is wrong with Firefox? This page, for example, https://www.metopera.org/season/in-cinemas/2019-20-season/agrippina-live-in-hd?utm_source=HD%20Porgy%20and%20Bess&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=1-20LiveinHDPorgyandBess&utm_content=version_A is about 6 pages long (if I view in MS EDGE or Windows Explorer (which MS says should no longer be used!) - it's 6 pages, but if I go to Print in Firefox (using Win 8.1 on a recently overhauled desktop (or on a brand new Win10 HP laptop) I get the first page and page 2 of 2 is a header oly. Same in Print Preview. FIREFOX DON'T WORK!!!

The broken print preview that you see is actually the way that the webpage is rendered. You just cannot usually see it. The use of the {display: flex;} CSS property makes the content of the page scroll within a small view box.

There is webkit specific CSS which fixes printing on Chrome and the new Chromium based Edge browser. This page will not print correctly on legacy edge or other non-webkit browsers.

Firefox fixes this problem if you check the "simplify page" checkbox in the print preview screen. However, it will make other print optimizing changes as well.

Less practically, you can change the .site-wrapper CSS selector to have {display: block;} on this page before printing in the developer tools. This causes this particular page to print properly.

When I print the page at the link below on Firefox 70.0 on my Mac OS Catalina, (Portrait, 100% scaling, “shrink to fit page” NOT ticked), the result is one largely blank page (except for the article title), then *one page* of the article text (the first part), and then the third page has nothing bur footer material from beneath the article. I.e., most of the article text is missing from the printout. (Print Preview looks the same as what I described.)

This happens on pay sites i.e., New York Times, and on free sites. It does not happen on any site when I use Safari.

Why is this, and more importantly how can I make Firefox print the whole article?

I've spent hours researching a solution to this problem. Is abandoning Firefox the only solution?

I also have had this problem for about a month.

The Financial Times and the New Yorker (as examples) used to print fine in Firefox, but something has changed in Firefox.

Now the FT prints just two pages; and the New Yorker the first page followed by the correct number of pages, but they are blank apart from a masthead.

To print I have to copy the link to Chrome which continues to print perfectly - that is ridiculous!

I have not found a solution to this problem, either from many hours of my own trial and error, or from a a Mozilla volunteer on this site, so I have disabled Mozilla and reverted to Safari on my Mac. I am sad to do so as I really like Mozilla's many features and broad community outreach, but since I print and make so many PDFs of articles this is my best recourse.
