After updating to Firefox 70, many websites that were previously working do not work when I navigate to them. However, if I clear the cookies related to that site, then the website works normally again. I've been having to do this for many websites and it's getting tedious. Furthermore, I've had to do this multiple times to the same sites after having cleared cookies previously. For these repeat non-functionality incidents, they come up after reopening the browser, but not every time the browser is quit.

Unless something about the newer program has changed.

Make that; unless how the data files are stored is changed.

If clearing cookies didn't help then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies got corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Cookies

Hi, thanks for your reply!

I deleted cookies.sqlite and other cookies files and restarted my browser, but the issue is persisting (I'm using the Duolingo site as a benchmark).

On a sidenote, is corruption of cookies files expected with a version update?

During an update, only the program files should be effected. Unless something about the newer program has changed.

Remove History For One Site

Open the History Manager <Control><Shift> H. In the search bar, enter the name of the site. Right-click on one of the listings and select Forget About This Site. This should remove all information, including any settings.

I see. I guess I'll just keep deleting cookies for sites individually as the issue comes up and hope for a fix in the near future :)

Thanks for your help!
