When I open firefox, websites from a previous session want to connect even though every setting I can think of has been checked to prevent this.

I use Little Snitch to monitor connections to the internet. I do not have Firefox restore sessions. When Firefox is opened it should start fresh with the home page and nothing more. When I start up Firefox it attempts to connect to urls from the previous time it was open are flagged as trying to connect.

I am using Mac OS X High Sierra and Firefox Quantum. The problem seemed to start when the update to Firefox Quantum occurred.

Extensions I have enabled are: Adblock Plus, Cookie AutoDelete, Facebook Container, Ghostery and New Tab Homepage.

I believe I have everything setup correctly.

Looking for suggestions.

I was not clear in my message. No tabs open up.

Here is what happens. The other day I visited edmundscientific.com and other sites. Firefox is then quit. When Firefox opens I have it set to bring up google as a home page. While getting ready to use google search or whatever, a Little Snitch dialog box comes up stating Firefox wants to connect to edmundscientific.com and over time it will do the same for other sites I may have visited during the previous session.

I just can not find a setting or reason this occurs.

Hi synchron, I do not have a tool like Little Snitch running, so I don't know whether this is an issue in the "new" Firefox home page, but possibly...

The "new tab" page sometimes generates background requests to websites to fill in missing thumbnail images. If the requests correspond to sites in Top Sites from your history, that could be the problem.
