Widevine is not installing on Firefox 59.0.2 64bit

On 4-7-18 Firefox seemed to glitch (opening new tabs as new windows) so I rebooted my machine (Win10 x64). Once I loaded windows and went into FF to play an Amazon video I got an error message saying Firefox was installing components to play video or audio. In looking in the Add-ons Manager I seed that the Widevide add-on has an error and says it will install shortly. This morning I uninstall and reinstall Firefox hoping it will correct, it is still in error and not installing. I looked up how to manually install this component and tried the solution found in article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1207502 however the link for the zip file times out and fails to download.

Is there another way to force FF to install the Widevine component so I can watch Amazon videos or is the install server down? I really don't want to use Chrome.

Please : uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files , C:\Program Files(x86) & C:\ProgramData Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly, If never done below expect 10's of gig's) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 59.0.2 with a Full Version Installer

I had already tried the DRM bit as it was part of the previous question I mentioned. I also did an uninstall and reinstall, thought not with the Disk Cleanup step. So now I'm trying it again with that step. As before on a fresh install both the OpenH264 Codec and the Widevine Content Decryption Module are errored saying they will be installed shortly. Before (and I expect to happen this time) after about an hour the OpenH264 will install. We'll see about the Widevine.

Saw this that someones Host File had a entry in it that blocked the update of it. Please check your Host File check if have entry : blocking '0.0.0.0 redirector.gvt1.com' https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/27350/beginner-geek-how-to-edit-your-hosts-file/

Alternatively : It could be your A/V or Firewall that is blocking this redirect which is Google. Could try disable for 5mins and see if Firefox updates it. But it may have problems playing content with that still. https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/198669-possible-infection-redirectorgvt1com/

Well with my A/V off for a half hour with FF open on the Add-ons page open, no install. And after sitting for like that for 4 more hours with Avast back on, still nothing.

Yes, more than once. I have also gone into the Options once for Widevine and had a "Check for Updates" option and I did that. Still has the error.

Hi, when you were sitting there you should have had the add-ons page open and be clicking the gear icon in the top right to force a update. I have no idea what the default time check for updates is.

Well, I left my computer on with the Add-Ons page up all day and nothing happened with it. When I click on the "check for updates" link nothing appears to happen.
