Do you mean the McAfee WebAdvisor? Is it a distinct toolbar, or a control on the main toolbar, or something else?

One way to check that would be the toolbar list. You can use one of these methods to show the list:

If the unwanted feature has its own bar you can turn on and off, you can turn it off, but it's certainly possible that the add-on responsible for it will turn it back on again. At least, I assume it's an add-on.

You can view, disable, and often configure and remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then cast a critical eye over the list on the right side. All extensions listed here are optional. If in doubt, disable. (If there isn't a Remove button, the extension is in a shared folder and will need to be uninstalled through other means.)

Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.

Any improvement?
