The problem with erratic bug reports is twice I've tried to send and the system crashed so I've sent what I could. The awkward bit about fred's reply, that the adobe remedy is to switch on hardware acceleration.....somewhat counterproductive for win10 users with FF. I problem I found sometime ago is that windows 10 does NOT automatically update the drivers..as on my screen a caption appears "go to the manufacturers website for updates". In my case this is ACER. with an Intel core. Unfortunately Win 10 update is a hoodwink farmout...one has to do many of the updates oneself. I am encountering so many peripheral issues with win 10, esp powercode 41 constantly appears in the critical error logs.

Appropo these "sumos"..I get these in the spam box and err on the side of caution and delete them. How does one know if they are genuine ? Is Mozilla attempting to contact using this method ?

This next reply is going to surprise, and a red-herring...hardware fault....The fault was the BIOS battery coming loose in it's holder, and by just slightly depressing the character keyboard was enough to create an intermittant contact. This was the clue to the remark I made regarding wrong colours around characters. The ACER pcb has a very simple plastic clip for the battery which is poor from the onset. The trick is to depress the battery in the holder and slightly burr the plastic over with a soldering iron.

It looks obvious....let's hope it's done the trick.
