When I try to install Firefox I click on "run" which appears at the bottom right of the screen. So far so good. Next a page comes up that is titled "View and Track Downloads" The options are to click on run or save, I have clicked both, nothing happens. I can not get past this page. Firefox does not load.

Thank you for your reply. I attempted to download the Firefox full installer per step 1). This process took approximately 10 minutes. I took this as a good sign since before it only took a minute or less. After it finished I clicked the "Run" box which appears in the bottom right of my screen.

The next screen which appears is the "View and track your downloads" A sample of the files, with run or save options are as follows:

Firefox Setup 4....exe 40.8 MB Run or Save Google Toolbar....exe 38.4 KB Run or Save QLBCTR.....exe Firebox Setup ST....exe Run

There are more of these files, in total there are 15. What do I do with these files? Do I run, save or delete them all, one at a time? Firefox is not loaded at this time.

Are you talking about the installer, or the download?

Firefox Setup 4....exe 40.8 MB Run or Save
Google Toolbar....exe 38.4 KB Run or Save
QLBCTR.....exe
Firebox Setup ST....exe Run

That does not look like the full installers I have used. The Mozilla.org installer puts Firefox on your system. When you start Firefox, it may ask you about newly detected programs, or alert you to updates.

I've called the big guys to help you. Good luck.

I don't what you call the download versus the install, so I will answer your question as follows:

I performed step one of your first reply. The link took me to the mozilla.org web site. I selected english and then clicked, download for windows. A bar appeared at the bottom of my screen which asked if I wanted to run or save, I clicked run. The bar then indicated the process would take approximately 10 mins and showed the status in percent complete. As the percent complete neared 100% I expected the screen to change stating the Firefox download was successful. Instead the view and track down loads screen appeared. The process took approximately 10 mins.

Thank you for the replys.

Ahh. That is from the program you are using to do the download.

Using another computer, Download Firefox Full Version For All languages And Systems {web link} onto a thumb drive. After, plug the thumb into your system.

I suppose that may fix the problem. I should not have to load software from a thumb drive and will not be going that route - sorry. Thank you for your efforts perhaps it will help others.

One final question please: I had several set-up files in my download folder from my various attempts to load Firefox. I stubbled across these this morning. I deleted all the downloads except one, "Firefox Set-up Stub 41.0.1 10/3/15 8:37 AM EXE 238 KB". Is this the file I need for Firefox and if do how to I load it onto/into my computer?

"Firefox Set-up Stub 41.0.1 10/3/15 8:37 AM EXE 238 KB" is the small stub installer that needs to load additional files from the internet as you can see by the small file size (238 KB).

You would want to keep the full version. You can find the full version of the current Firefox release (41.0.1) in all languages and all operating systems here:

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have attempted to download the full version from the link you posted several times, without success. I can try again but my question is why do the files go into my down load file and are not actually loaded onto my computer? Assuming I can get a full download from the web site to my download files is there a way I can up load the files onto my computer?

If files that you download do not end up in the correct location then this is possibly caused by security software.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) to see if that helps.

I have reviewed the link to use the windows safe mode. It may very well work however, It would suggest follow on up-grades would also be a problem. I have decided that Firefox is not right for me at this time. Thanks all for your time and the help.
