That is a problem with msmpeg2vdec.dll that is probably part of Windows Media Foundation.
You can try to disable the HTML5 media player for some media types.
You can try to toggle these prefs to false on the about:config page with a double-click.
- media.windows-media-foundation.enabled
- media.directshow.enabled
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
doesn't crash firefox now but won't play video. Flash videos crash flash plugin now.

You can check for problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions and try this:
- check for updates for your graphics drive drivers

- disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
