So I moved from my old Galaxy S21 Ultra into a new Xiaomi 17 ultra.

Installed Firefox and logged in with the qr code thing on my main computer.

Firefox on the phone says it's synced but the list of passwords is empty. Not a single password in the list. Lots of passwords on the main computer.

This worked just fine on the old S21 Ultra.

Any ideas?

This is a completely fresh install on a new phone so not to be ungrateful, the typical good advice about clearing cache and reinstalling is just not relevant here.

In the settings of Firefox there is a search bar you click it to type things in to search settings but I cant search settings? I type "Favorite" and there's no settings for favorites bar behavior? No, I don't want the favorites bar to delete itself after I click on anything. I want my favorites bar to be a favorites bar and stay there and not go away anytime I click on anything. It shouldnt just be there only when I click a new tab.

1) Why does searching the settings for "favorite" not display any favorites bar settings? 2) Why are my Firefox browser settings not persistent between multiple computers when I have enabled "Sync"?

Everything is gone, I have had to reinstall windows 4 times in the last week with a new PC and now all my sync data is gone...Chrome remembers everything fine and Mozilla did remember everything until this install and now its not syncing anything.

If this stuff is gone so am I.

Have tried logging in with my google account, tried logging in with Moz account, tried sync button over and over tried restarting, tried uninstalling and reinstalling and manually deleting all the folders STILL NO SYNC DATA AT ALL.......

Description: Bookmarks saved in the Bookmarks Toolbar on Firefox Desktop are not being synced to Firefox for iOS. Bookmarks saved in other folders (e.g. Bookmarks Menu) sync correctly and appear on iOS as expected.

Steps to reproduce:

1. Add a bookmark to the Bookmarks Toolbar on Firefox Desktop.
2. Wait for sync or trigger sync manually.
3. Open Firefox on iOS and check bookmarks.

Expected behavior: The bookmark appears in the Bookmarks Toolbar folder on iOS.

Actual behavior: The Bookmarks Toolbar folder on iOS still shows outdated content. Bookmarks in other folders sync without issues.

Troubleshooting already performed:

• Disconnected and reconnected Sync on iOS
• Reinstalled Firefox on iOS
• Enabled background app refresh for Firefox on iOS
• Verified that both devices are connected to the same Mozilla account (last sync timestamp confirmed on accounts.firefox.com)

Environment:

• Desktop: Firefox 149.0 (64-Bit)
• iOS: Firefox for iOS 149.1

I use Firefox for work. Recently, I refreshed my desktop and now my favorites do not sync with the fresh Firefox installation. I've logged out, uninstalled/reinstalled, etc. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Upgrade to FF on IOS 26.3.1 did not transfer bookmarks and passwords - nor did it sync. The good thing about that is I do still have passwords on my iphone but none of the methods for syncing are working. I spent 11 hours on this yesterday - is there a simple fix? Tried using old profile and that didn't work.

My firefox deleted all my passwords and bookmarks last night. I manually inputed everything from scratch and now it has all deleted again. I pressed sync no multiple times and nothing is popping up. I am extremely annoyed. If this isn't resolved I must switch to a new browser.

Hi all, Starting at the weekend or end of last week I think, when I send tabs to another device when that device is switched off then when I open Firefox on the other device, the sent tabs are loaded in private browsing windows, not the main window with my saved tabs in. Sometimes all sent tabs arrive in one private browsing window, sometimes in one private browsing window for each tab. As I can't drag private tabs into the main window this is really annoying! How can I stop this happening please? Cheers :)

Cannot get FireFox browser on my Windows 11 computer to sync with my Android mobile phone or the other way around. They both can see each other but they won't sync.

Whenever i send a Tab from any Device to a Linux Desktop, the Linux Desktop is almost guaranteed to freeze. It doesn’t matter if that Linux Desktop is my "Dingus" PC with 2GB RAM and Wayland, or my "Workstation" PC with 16GB RAM and X11. On both Desktops, Firefox runs smoothly until it gets sent a Tab from another Device, then the whole Linux Desktop freezes. The Desktop doesn’t slow if i open the Tab on the Desktop in the “Tabs from other Devices” Sidebar instead.

Only my Linux Desktops freeze when they get sent a Tab from another Device. Android doesn’t slow when my Phone gets sent a Tab from another Device.

My new phone did not restore my apps so I just downloaded Firefox to phone and tried to sync via my new Mozilla account. When I open Firefox on phone now, it just opens Google so I can’t do the scan

My laptop, desktop, iphone and ipad are not synchronizing. I cannot find the history from one of those devices on the others. I had set up my home page so that I'd have my history showing up there, but it stopped working. when I ask the desktop browser to send a tab to other devices, nothing happens. This has been going on for weeks. I have tried many things to fix it, but everything seems set to how it is supposed to be. Please help.

i have 4 accounts on firefox and i cannot remember which account i have been used through years now i cannot sync my old data however i have tried the 4 emails and accounts i used and non of them is working

My desktop history is no longer synching with my phone. I have the proper desktop device synced.

I have sync turned on.

I haven’t checked, but I’ll venture to guess my bookmarks and open tabs aren’t syncing either.

Hi! I have a lot of tabs synced in the mozilla account on a device that I have not connected for a while (forgot it at a place far away). Recently I needed to open some of the tabs and while the device was shown in the account the tabs were not accessible. Isn't that one of the major points of using the sync, to be able to see things between the devices??? My reaction - WTF? It's like the perfect lie - hey look we have your device here.... but it is actually just the name. I am so frustrated about this.... why don't you even talk about this? Why is there no warning that my data is going away??? Why is this decision to delete the synced tabs (not the device but only its tabs) from the account happening without any notice, at a time randomly decided by someone? How is that making sense? Why can't the user be informed and make a decision? I think that's one of the reasons why you lose and lose and lose market share, because you don't care anymore about your users, you think all are idiots and you can make decisions for them and restrict their abilities to manage their experience. I know it is free software but it's getting worse until it will become absolutely irrelevant, please stop smoking whatever you're smoking and make more sense with your decisions to add/remove features and alter functionality. Just one more example of another senseless decision - the time options when I want to clear the history. Just 1/2/4h, since 12am and everything.... I am trying but there's no logic in choosing these intervals and restricting the user to only those.... Another one.... the extensions... it's like a dumb game of hide-and-seek to find their options and manage them or to put their icon on the toolbar or somewhere handy and visible so it can be used as it is supposed to be used.... does not make any sense! Ah yeah and the very very old complaint: WHY did you remove the status bar? Lots of info can be added there and it was VERY useful. This was one of the big "WTF is happening with Firefox?" moments.... only downhill from there. I will probably give up on Firefox if it doesn't come back to actually making sense. Not all users are idiots, give them back the power to use your (still good) software in the way they want, stop taking away features and options. And don't forget the power users, take their options away and they will go away.
