Places.sqlite is missing moz_bookmarks_roots and I don't know how to fix it.

I am using an old profile (now on Firefox 49.0) but when I tried to use sync and "export" functions and addons, they don't work.

On closer examination, I discovered I am missing the moz_bookmarks_roots table from places.sqlite

Using the "Places Maintenance" add-on didn't fix it. Using "Refresh Firefox" didn't fix it. Using the "Backup and Restore" didn't fix it.

I don't know what to do next.
