On a very slow (10-20kB/s) connection, firefox loads and displays a part of a page, then displays a security error.

on a surface 3 with windows 10 and all updates, latest firefox with all updates.

the page appears to start loading, sometimes some images and parts of the text will display, then as the page continues to load, something will break, and the security error attached will be shown.

this happens on several sites, and is exacerbated by a bad connection - i live in africa and already pay through the nose for this poor connection, upgrading it is not an option. when the connection slows down, the security errors will increase. it will happen on google, mozilla, etc. however, it often happens on the forums.lenovo.com site, even when other sites will load - that seems to be a site that requires a long of data to load.

i have tried making changes to the about:config in these sites (not the additional programs), they have not helped. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/firefox-slow-optimise-browser-tricks-si/

this has been happening since first install, and disabling extensions does not seem to have an impact. i recently had to recover the OS, it was happening before and after a full reinstall, with a new dl and install of ff.

when i have these errors, my work-around is to fire up chrome and it usually loads the page fine, or at least gives me an error that relates to the page failing to load or timing out - which i can understand, when the connection has truly gone down. more often, there is just enough juice in the connection for chrome to squeeze the page out, while firefox doesn't manage, even if i refresh.

pen flicks that work and extensions in firefox, as well as the great support community, make it my preferred browser, i would love to find a solution. please let me know what other information i can provide to help in troubleshooting this.

No help yet, was there something wrong with my question? I see it is not a common issue, should I be raising it somewhere else

Here is a screenshot of the error appearing on the mozilla site, with error reporting (the only option available) opened. It really doesn't seem to me that a timeout should result in a security error, this seems to give people the impression that the site itself is insecure, which I assume it is not as this is mozilla.
