Hi,

Having recently suffered a hard drive failure I have had to reinstall Mozilla, which brilliantly found all my accounts without any problems. Unfortunately I can only access my emails by right clicking on the inbox and opening in a new tab, which is a bind. The toolbar is auto hidden (F10 reveals it), I then click tools which reveals a drop down menu. I cannot access any of the tools and so cannot change anything. I see by doing a web search that this is currently a common issue and wonder if anyone has a solution?

I have tried reinstalling, but the problem persists.

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) with service pack 1. I am waiting for Windows to auto download all the system updates including SP2.

Thanks in anticipation.

Martin

Chosen solution

On the toolbar then  Add-ons Select extensions and remove Lightning/calendar addon 1a. if you can't get to addons, then start thunderbird in safe mode (hold the shift key while starting Thunderbird) 1b. if you still can't get to addons, reinstall thunderbird from http://getthunderbird.com/ 2. restart thunderbird 3. reinstall Lightning/calendar addon - if you need the functionality

Please tell us, does that help? (Thanks to Wayne for the text)

Since posting I have discovered that the"delete" button also doesn't work and I have to drag and drop messages to the deleted folder!

What's that about?????

Next time you open your "toolbar" (I think it's a menu) look for View then Toolbars and tick the checkboxes.

Thanks Zenos,

However none of the tabs in the toolbar works properly.
