Hello, Simple user here. v 39.0, Windows 8.,1 Samsung 365e laptop

Recently a setting has changed some how, I've tried searching to no avail, even here. I hope it is simple

When using search functions like google and others, one typically get's suggestions below what one is typing. Typically this will find my question before I'm done typing. I have always used the down arrow key to highlight these suggestions but it is not working. It still works in my address bar, and with scrolling through pages. Just not in most search windows. (works @ Amazon btw)

I don't seem to be able to (or smart enough to) find the setting this involves.

I apologize If this is not Mozilla related.

Hi parkergc8, I think I know the search option you are mentioning, but can you please show a screenshot in your response if this does not help:

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window
