I want McAfee site advisor and I have disabled it to keep Firefox working properly. How can I overcome this problem?

McAfee site advisor is slowing down Firefox. I want to keep it and not disable it as suggested earlier. I have disabled it for now but I want to use it and it is messing up Firefox.
