Thunderbird has stopped connecting to yahoo/att.net since 3/13/2026.

I was locked out from yahoo completely but managed to reconnect with their web client today but Thunderbird still doesn't work. my connection is POP with my ports set as: inbound.att.net 995 outbound.att.net 465 when I test the connection under settings in Thunderbird reports: Successfully established a secure connection to inbound.att.net:995. Successfully established a secure connection to outbound.att.net:465. I was at Version 146.0.1 so I upgraded to 148 with no difference

OAUTH to Yahoo fails after TB v148 upgrade

Prior to TB 148, OAUTH worked for POP3 access to: Gmail, MS Outlook, and Yahoo.

After TB 148 upgrade: OAUTH to Yahoo fails, subsequent log-in page also fails. Both OAUTH to Gmail and OAUTH to MS Outlook still work fine.

Rolled-back/Reverted to TB 147.0.2 -- OAUTH to all works fine, as it did previously.

Note: YahooMail seems to have other problems. But I was able to confirm successful OAUTH and POP3 to YahooMail after reversion to 147.0.2.

Moved files to a new windows 11 machine and everything is lost, even tho everything is really still there.

All old inbox, sent, other folders, trash, etc. are missing. Tried to go back to the laptop files, but the results are the same.

Running Windows 11 on both machines.

Is there any way to get my data back?

I've always experience occasional TB crashes. According to my log history there was 1 in July, 3 in Aug, 2 in Sep, 2 in Oct, and 6 in Nov. I never really paid attention… (ketahui selanjutnya)

I've always experience occasional TB crashes. According to my log history there was 1 in July, 3 in Aug, 2 in Sep, 2 in Oct, and 6 in Nov. I never really paid attention since the reboot was quick. But now in December I am losing work and it is a major problem. I've had 30 crashes in Dec and 21 in the past week. I have only 3 add ons and they have not changed, and a Copernic connector. I disable the Copernic connector and it didn't help. I have the same 140.6 on my Surface Go with the same add ons, except for Copernic and it runs fine. On both PCs I use Malewarebytes and WinDef. I have put exclusions for them in their setups. Even with MBAM completely disabled I've still had crashes.

I cleared the Cache and no help. I've even had occasional crashes in Troubleshooting mode. Here are my last 5 crash IDs

Interestingly I’m also experiencing crashes with Firefox, especially ChatGPT. I cleared the ChatGPT history and that helped but did not solve the problem. I cleared the Firefox cache and in troubleshoot mode still have issues.

Otherwise my win11 PC seems to be working fine. I’ve run chkdsk and all is ok. Also scannow is ok.

Is my next step a profile rebuild?

So, i would like that thundirbird does not open a new message when i put one in the garbage can, i want it open a message only if i clic on it manually, not automatically. This is true for two different user accounts on the same computer.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird but it didn't help.

Thunderbird can't be exited without killing from the task manager or shutting down.

In my email files (left pane) I have an ARCHIVE file (the good one), but also a second one (the one I can't delete); please see image attached.

Note the second one has a grayed-out icon which is different from the good ones. How can I send that file off to OblivionWorld?

After some time, or perhaps following my general activity within the application or some other trigger, it seems to disappear for reasons I have yet to understand.

I attach a screen clip showing four of these icons ("2025 - STILL TO REVIEW" is one of my user-created folder names.)

Secondly, is the answer to the above question available already in online help for Thunderbird? If so, and since I haven't found it yet, I would be grateful to be pointed towards the relevant article. As a new user, I expect it would tell me other things that will be useful for me to learn!

I am using version 146.0.1 (64-bit).

I deleted my Thunderbird account and created a new one on the same computer. I used a Profile saved on my external hard drive. The address book info was replicated. The hierarchy of folders and their emails were not replicated in the left hand pane. Is there a way to retrieve those folders with their content? Please, I am not super techno-savvy, so take me step by step. Thank you.
