twitter posts not going through from Firefox browser but no problem using IE; Twitter error message re: try again in a few minutes, but it never goes through

Trying to submit tweets through twitter site using Firefox 3.6. Tweets don't go through - get message "oops, we did something wrong. Try again in a few minutes". But, not able to get the tweets in after repeated tries.

Opened IE 8 to same twitter site and account; tweets go through instantly on multiple submissions with no error message.

Flipping back to Firefox, tweets still not going through.
