The automatic updater recently updated Firefox to version 104.0.2 (64 bit), yet I have been using the 32 bit for the last 9 years (on Windows 8.1).

Furthermore after the update, I had nothing but problems, which tells me the 64 bit version is in-compatible with Windows 8.1 (or it is on my PC). Since then, I have manually downloaded the version in 32 bit, installed it, (which has replaced the 64 bit) and all my problems have gone.

In future can the automatic updater stay with what is on my system (i.e. 32 bit) please and does not update it to 64 bits. It looks to me like the updater checked if my laptop could run a 64 bit application and hence replaced the 32 bit with a 64 bit version.

As a point my PC (laptop) will run 32 or 64 bit applications, but I tend to find most 64 bit applications don't run that well, hence I elect to use 32 bit applications.

Not much point sharing any data now because the 64 bit version has been replaced with a working 32 bit version, but if it helps later and you want me to re-install the 64 bit I can do and share information accordingly. Send me an email accordingly.

Thank you
