After installing the latest version of Firefox for Windows, if I have 3 firefox pages open (I have pages ungrouped on the task bar), when a download is in progress, it shows a progress bar on each of the pages as opposed to just on 1 page. Was this change made on purpose or by mistake?

I am fully updated mint user, it is starting to be bother some, do I need to deinstall/reinstally?, I would prefer not to, sigh, but I certainly wouldn't want to do it if it won't fix the issue Thank you for any suggestions

Hi, I have been a user of Firefox on Macs ever since it first appeared as many websites simply did not work with Safari. The latest version of Firefox is causing me a fair amount of grief however. The main Menubar now extends more than two thirds the way across my screen (M4 Macbook air 15") so that menus for the OS are now not visible. I have buttons for, WiFi, Bluetooth, Time Machine, Volume, Battery, Time, Spotlight and Keyboard Maestro, which I use on a regular basis. It works fine on my second monitor but obviously I don't carry that with me when I'm away from home :-) I do not use the Profiles, Tools or Help Menus at all, so is there a way to remove them easily and permanently? This would enable me to see all of my OS control buttons Thank You

Firefox 145.0.1 (64 bit) - Until recently the full URL address always displayed in the Location Bar. About a month ago the full address disappeared completely and a blue globe icon at the end had to be clicked to display the full address.

I have changed "browser.urlbar.trimURLs" to false per https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1493782#answer-1712662. Now when I do a new search the full URLs still do not display. I still have to click the blue globe. But if I click on any of the search result pages the full URLs display. How can I fix this?

Some years ago when 'Roomy Bookmarks' no longer worked on Firefox, I discovered how to display only icons on the Bookmarks Toolbar.

I believe It was a very simple edit in about:config

Unfortunately have been unable to locate the note I made regarding the edit.

Did try the plug-in 'compact-toolbar' however even with 'Hide folder names too' the folder names (and bookmark names for that matter) are still displayed.

Have anyone managed to accomplish displaying icons only in Bookmarks Toolbar?

Thanks.

Is anyone else having this issue? The top right of the task bar is supposed to offer the chance to minimize or close the window, with an underscore and an x, ans well to to pop out the window with the two rectangles, one behind and above the other. Mine no longer show up on Firefox, and I can't figure out how to bring them back, if it is even possible.

Fullscreen Transition Animation Differs Between Firefox on macOS and Windows: Can I Apply the Windows Fade Effect on Mac?

Hello, I am writing to inquire about the difference in the fullscreen video transition animation style between Firefox on Windows and macOS. Observed Difference: Wi… (read more)

Hello,

I am writing to inquire about the difference in the fullscreen video transition animation style between Firefox on Windows and macOS.

Observed Difference:

  • Windows: Uses a smooth fade-in/fade-out animation when entering and exiting fullscreen, which provides a polished user experience.
  • macOS: The transition is present, but it lacks the distinct Windows-style fade effect and feels less smooth or different in style compared to the Windows version.

Settings Checked:

  • I have confirmed that the about:config preferences full-screen-api.transition.duration.enter and full-screen-api.transition.duration.leave are both set to 200 200. These settings did not enable the identical Windows fade animation on macOS.

Core Question:

  • Is there any current method (e.g., through advanced settings, flags, or extensions) for a user to apply the exact same smooth fade-in/fade-out fullscreen transition animation seen on Windows to Firefox for macOS?
  • If there is no current way, is this difference due to limitations with the macOS graphical environment, or is there a plan to unify the animation style in future updates?

Moderator note: This question has been edited to fix the formatting.

Hello, Until the weekend, my firefox home screen has a row or bar across the top that had File - Edit - View - Bookmarks - Tools - etc. (see 'firefox' image attached) Now that row is gone (see second screenshot) Can someone tell me how to get it back please? I tried searching for this but, as I have no idea what this row is called, I came up blank. Thanks Chris

Against my better judgement I download the latest update for Firefox, now my computer is a mess. Things like the row of saved sites between the search line and the space where web address shows is gone. I can find the web sites , but I want the line back. I don't understand ANY of your directions or support pages. I am old and can't keep up with technology any more - I'm about five years behind.

If I just uninstall the latest version of firefox will that fix it? Or will it uninstall ALL of firefox. And please don't give me long involved directions or I will just give up because I don't understand.

I have my desktop extended across two displays. If I disable Hardware Acceleration in Firefox, entering fullscreen causes the window to be slightly offset down and right, leaving a thin band on the top and left sides of the screen where the desktop background and taskbar are visible behind the Firefox window.

From testing I have determined that this issue does not occur if I only have one monitor enabled or the monitors are mirroring the same display. I have also determined that the issue only occurs when Hardware Acceleration is disabled.
